Everyone is saying that part 2 is worst. Well I haven't watched part 1 yet cause I was waiting for full release.…
the first part was a top show easily, the second part is good except for one scene which was like whyyyy. For me it's a definite watch

Lol those scenes around the end of the snow definitely saved the bitter ending series πŸ˜‚
totally agree lol
On Duty after School: Part 2 Apr 23, 2023
So much to unpack with this drama, it was sooooo good and then......... well at least they gave us the killer raps post credits, it's the least they could do after tearing our hearts out
On Duty after School: Part 1 Apr 2, 2023
#DutyAfterSchool #viki

So I finished the first part and the second part comes out April 21st. I'm literally calling it, along with The Glory I think this will be one of the best of 2023! The first six episodes were so action packed and emotional it's hard to even wrap my head around what happens next especially with the ending of that sixth episode, I just want to cry. The kids really have to grow up fast and it's heartbreaking. The government really screwed those kids, now they send children to the battlefield, it's so freaking unsettling. I'm going to hate waiting until the 21st, it's sooooooo good, I have become so attached to the characters in just six episodes, I can't even express how great this drama is so far and how much worry I have for the second half 😰😬

I also don't have any problems with Chao Yue acting on Chong Zi character portrayal from beginning to the end…
exactly

I love the fl leadπŸ₯° I don't understand why so much is written about her, she got such a character in the series…
I absolutely agree, I loved her, totally adorable

because she's a good actress who can play Sa Jiao roles well

I think most of the negativity comes from fangirls with second male lead syndrome whining about their favs getting hurt which is funny because second male leads or third wheel characters never get the girl or the female lead at least

yeah those comments criticizing and dropping after a few episodes really shouldn't be taken seriously. I loved Yang Chao Yue so much I started watching Heroes and she is just as adorable lol

For me this drama, like the name implies, is all about Chong Zi and her relationship with Yin Fan. I looooooooved Yang Chao Yue! I've seen tons of complaints about her character and I have absolutely no idea why, she is so cute and adorable. Her character especially at the beginning is a Sa Jiao character and I especially love that type of character if done right which I think Yang Chao Yue did an excellent job with. The story reminds me of Love and Redemption a bit where it's light and fun at first and then they just pile on the pain through misunderstanding after misunderstanding which is kind of annoying plus they introduce the amnesia trope in later episodes which I hate. Speaking of similarities to Love and Redemption, Yang Chao Yue did Sa Jiao way better than the FL in Love and Redemption who I thought was super annoying.

The story wasn't too bad but after the soul binding string in the last few episodes it got a little weird but with the epilogue, which is basically the ending, it ended up being quite nice. There were three characters I hated, Min Yun Zhong was terrible, he was sneaky and wanted to kill Chong Zi the entire drama. The other two were MiaoYuan who was so jealous and privileged she was evil, and Ting Xue who was a terrible person, both hated Chong Zi for no reason except jealousy and did terrible things to her. Fortunately those two got what they deserved but Yun Zhong definitely needed a greater punishment.

The love story was strong and Jeremy acts with his face which you rarely see, you could see all of his emotions through his facial expressions alone. When the two do finally sort of figure it out it's pretty cute but unfortunately everything is against them so they also feel a lot of pain. I loved the ending epilogue which really is just the ending because it starts exactly where episode 40 leaves off so don't think 40 is the end. Episode 41 is on Viki.

I would definitely recommend especially if you like well done Sa Jiao characters, but remember there is a lot of pain and sadness in this one as well, the ice prison scenes are pretty much unbearable.

okay so now I'm 32 episodes in and I still don't get why there is so much hate on this drama, especially on Yang Chao Yue who I personally love and is the best reason to watch this. Like to me if you like Love and Redemption there are definitely similarities and I definitely like Chong Xi better than the FL in Love and Redemption, the FL was so annoying as a Sa Jiao character and Yang Chao Yue is waaaaaaaay better and totally adorable. I think this gets most of it's hate because fangirls are so angry about all the guys that love Chong Xi and they get hurt. It's literally called The Journey of Chong Xi, meaning it's all about her, and from the very beginning it was about her relationship with her master and everyone else is just a side character. plus just like in Love and Redemption they get you to like the characters by making the story light and cute for close to half the drama and then unload pain on you for the rest by just creating misunderstanding after misunderstanding. I'll finish soon but even if it ends badly up until now I'm really loving Yang Chao Yue.

okay I get I'm only around episode 10 but all the hate for the main couple is ridiculous. I get if you aren't a fan of Sa Jiao characters but I love them and I think Yang Chao Yue is the cutest! especially when she whines to Master, it's adorable and at this point in the drama I think Chong Zi and master are cute together. I feel a lot of female fans hate her because their boy toys on screen are getting hurt lol, second male lead characters almost never get the FL so what do you expect. I'm definitely not looking forward to the crisis sections and the heartbreak and definitely not the amnesia (which has to be the worst trope in all of drama) but since I only care about the main couple I won't cry about all of the third wheel characters getting hurt.

I also thought Girl From Nowhere at first and actually thought it may be a Japanese version and then I got further into the story and it isn't that at all. It's actually pretty well made, I liked it quite a bit

okay now the ending makes sense, I was pretty annoyed by the ending because it seems in every Chinese drama about the law they always have to get the person regardless of storyline line so I thought they rushed the ending for that purpose

i feel the plot seems so slow I mean the kiss scene its in 10 episode :') and the ML annoyed me when he can't…
omg I thought I was the only one, I am starting to feel for Hyeri as an actress having to deal with this ML, I'm like we are already to episode ten and barely anything, like the slowest of Burns, I think the ML isn't very good at expressing the characters feelings

Lol, it seems I’m the only who actually likes the female lead…I mean, she did start off as a bit useless/annoying…
I really like the FL, her character is really starting to blossom. This whole series so far is excellent 😁
Rima-chan Sep 26, 2022
Honestly I think you will regret not finishing. There chemistry gets much better once the ML finds out who the FL really is and even better once she forgives him for what he tried to do. This latest episode was just incredible

Yes, the rule was enforced by the NRTA back in 2019 which resulted in a number of 2020 releases experiencing major…
Yes that's true but this drama has been in the planning stage for a while and marked as a 2022 drama and when first posted on MDL it said 60 episodes. Most dramas I noticed that were really affected were first quarter of 2021 as those dramas were already at the filming stage, like The Psychologist suffered the worst of the dramas I watched and I honestly think Luoyang got hit towards the ending which I think was cut short a bit. Luckily this was still in the planning stage so they were able to make creative revisions in the story. I think all dramas that started the writing process after the rules took place should be unaffected but to me this drama was definitely at a stage where it was affected by those rules, I mean you can honestly tell they cut large portions of the story
WandereR May 17, 2022
I think them focusing on the love story was a smart move as the final arc suffered from the new rules by the Chines Gov that limits dramas to 40 episodes at most. The story was originally slated for 60 episodes so a lot of the story that revolved around the main villian was cut as well as a lot of the fight scenes. Having to edit down from 60 to 40 episodes was mostly felt in that portion of the drama and it was pretty apparent. So focusing on the love story was what still made this drama totally worth watching. I went in knowing there would definitely be holes in the plot because of the material being edited so for me it wasn't a huge deal.
