Wang Yi Ming is actually awful at acting. Its so bad in ep 5 ... poor directors.

DatC always has too much empty spaces in the story i hope this one remedies this.

2006 for sure.

As i watch more Dramas I find the relationship in this miles better. The female did not remain a forever virgin to lead along 2-6 men. Their relationship is realistic, it has issues people have, that isn't just super evil women #15454 is trying to kill you.

Recently, having watch Legend , good bye princess, and a few more, i cannot but laugh that this Drama that took itself FAR less serious has a much MORE serious romance. I don't know if its because they are attempting to play different aspects of peoples psyches or what.

In short, maybe people watching Dramas want mentally ill insane stories that bare no relation to reality, but i like crazy stories that bare at least some relation to reality in how the characters interact.

(Example: In Good Bye Princess the ML is cool and is the definition of only fighting battles he can win. But with his Women, the MC, he cannot control himself one bit. This works with females largely because of the desire to want to be loved to a point past reason; called desirability. Which is a real thing and also the root basis for rape fantasies; (spoiler) which is mentioned here because its the only time either have sex for pretty sure. I find both disgusting but that is what that story was selling. Google this if you don't believe me. The end was more of the Same i love him so much look at what ill do. This isn't love its mental illness and i am suppose to appreciate this as romance? Its not even tragic its just gross.)

Compare this to Story of Yanxi Palace, which is an enjoyable show and more about those inner court ladies always plotting to kill each other. But romance? Rofl, Maybe between the King and his Empress. But the MC Female and anyone? No, i mean there is a super cuck, but at least the MC didn't lead him on. I mean at the end it was like here ya go now you got it... for who knows whatever reason you would even want it.

Yes Zhao Min was the star of this for sure. Wuji, my Wuji :P I actually like Alec Su from 2002 and even the 86 version. I think 2002 does the best at Wuji which is important.

I think overall the story was done very well. Worth a watch and entertaining, Only down side is that Wuji was missing. I mean there was a character name Wuji but that wasn't Wuji.
Wuji isn't tricky, he is altruistic. He is rudderless (indecisive), no big plans, no aspirations to say, largely a product of his early childhood and whatever situation he currently is in. Wuji is missing from this Drama (sure the writing is still there but the behavior isn't.)

Zhao Min is very likeable in this version.

Its a good show. But i cannot help but point this out.

The WORST aspect of this Drama is how utterly dumb the MC face is. Im not saying ugly, they purposefully had her act like she was a mouth drooling comatose person at least two to three times and episode and for like 5 minutes each.
Oh someone is judging my food, time to put on my i am dumber than a box of rocks face. Happens at the end of almost every episode also but that face is a bit different, its more like oh WOW... with a bit of coma face.

An overly serious and filled with angst; but does it wonderfully all the same. One of the best dramas of its types.

I don't understand this Drama at all. No one in the entire show is likeable. Maybe the supreme god. Things just happen because. Its pointless IMO.

He isn't even awful. He is what he is. I rather like him.

I tend not to compare anything past the mid 90s with the 80s versions (They are very different). Having said this, the 2003 version is easily my favorite version. I just finished watching the 2017s version and it feels bad. The 2003 version lets you feel the amazing abilities of the adversaries Guo Jing encounters, their weapons, and styles and his grow that is almost entiorely missing from the 2017 version.
In short 2003 is a Wuxia and 2017 is a Drama.

One of the best Korean wuxia (can i call it that?) . Maybe i cannot, its only tagged with Martial Arts... too bad i did it anyways haha. Anyway very good.

This is way better than a 7.7; its one of the best and this version (which is rather different). Its just so good and the reason for the lower rating has to be the ending, but don't worry the ending, is valorous and just.
