I did not see all comments but from what I HAVE seen I gather our dear MRR said that M is gay and tharntype05 said they are both straight men... or something along these lines. I myself do not dare to give my opinion because there are fanatics who want them to be gay - like WTF?!? It is THEIR OWN BUSINESS what their sexuality is and it is in their rights to keep it private! What hurts ME very much is when people say that Mew acted better than Gulf or that Gulf was very good but not that good (?!?). We all know of Mew's capability to act :) and I guess we can all agree that it is top notch! But I have watched the whole episodes again and again like literally every single day, all of them, and analysed their expressions and body language and I can safely say that Gulf is one of the best actors I have EVER seen in my entire life of 42 years.
For example, that scene in the shower, where Type's mind doesn't want to but his body does, and he scrunches his face, like he's disgusted, but his lips have their own mind and they kiss back and at the end, he is in a daze, like he falls into Tharn's orbital attraction when the later "smells" his neck. Then, when Tharn confesses, Gulf becomes all shy and doesn't know where to look and how to act and so forth. I do not know how they got into their characters so well, but I can honestly say that when they hated each-other, THEY REALLY HATED EACH OTHER, and when they loved each other, oh, well... You know, people say that when you fall in love you have a glow about you, well I can see how Gulf glows after Type realized he was in love.
I am into reading people's body language and stuff and I was confused because of Gulf's hands. But then I watched a lot of pictures from his private life and clips from behind the scenes or outside the series and it seems that that's just the way he carries his hands (to me, they say he is holding something back but well, I guess I'll never know :) ).
I cannot wait to watch him in something else to see if all of this was thanks to Mew's, the director's, the acting coach's and MAME's help and guidance, because he doesn't seem to have had such a big life experience to portray all those feelings so well as he did. I was in awe of Mike d'Angelo's acting in "Kiss Me" but I wasn't as blown away by his next works - he is still good but, for me, that was his best acting yet. And I heard that the director even told them when to swallow so, maybe it was because of him that Mike was so awesome!
If they do get the means to do the series for the 3rd book, it would still take another year to prepare and film it. SO..maybe 2021?! Wishful thinking! I think Gulf wants something else now, maybe he is afraid of being stuck with this kind of works.

As for punishing the guilty... In real life that does not always happen. This series has a lot of real life reality in it that I see people do not grip, like the so called toxic relationship, being in a gay relationship but not coming out, the continuous violence of one character, who even when confessing uses harsh language and so forth.

Because some people mentioned Art, I went on youtube and watched some of their videos of them being together. Do you know what I seem to have noticed the most? Mew's smile has changed. This time around he smiles warmly and happily. And more, much more. I did not see him smile so much around Art. It is obvious that from Gulf's part there are no romantic feelings but it is also obvious that there is admiration, respect and friendship and also some kind of understanding each other that maybe makes them be at large with skinship and such. I do not know how much of it is just acting or not, but the eyes of both of them are sparkling!!!
