“Has the mandatory 30-day waiting period passed?”This was the one I was wondering pondering myself but a lot…
If it were a few months after Germany, and Hai-in only had 3 months to live, that means she is very close to death. But of course it's an estimate, some outlive the time that their doctors say. Plus this is fiction.
I enjoyed episode 9 even though it is still very sad. So much happened. 😭 I just want her entire family to…
Kdramas tend to show their previews as more dramatic than it actually is. It is for this reason why some prefer to start watching when all episodes bave been aired already.
He gave the reason in last episode. He wanted to be by her side. To do that he was willing to endure anything.…
Yep. He underplqyed his abilities so he does not outshine her.
Hunting episode - every year, he does not kill any animal because wife needs to be the one to have shot the most number of birds. It was revealed later that he was really good at it and was even a team lead in the military, and it was embarassing for the brother to offer to teach him how to.shoot.
I wanted to drop because of the FL, and I can list a dozen of reasons why I did not like her. I gave it a chance because there are fairly good reviews in MDL.
Good character development for the FL, and ML appeared to be a support. Also, ML is wise and nice, not the cliche cold man we see in other Asian dramas.
Also, because 88Ed is a very small company, they act like a family as compared to other business dramas in a big corp setting (although there's AOK too, which showed a great contrast). Love the suporting characters and sub-plots too.
I have seen a few lakorns but I think this is the best I've seen.
I especially appreciate thr chemistry and dynamics among the characters, especially the families. The mother heads the family, the eldest son and his wife are the pillars, and the ML/FL are well, the babies. No struggle for power within the family, which extends to the in-laws.
I feel that they tried to get the aesthetics in Cdramas - the bright, white lights, scandi interior style, pastel and white clothing, even the soundtrack.
They appear to have spent a lot of budget in shooting locations. Phucket Bangkok, another one city in Thailand, Myanmar, each location with nice sets (houses, offices, even hospitals haha) - and they brought almost the full cast there.
Tip: too many good things in this lakorn, just fast forward the bad scenes for your own pleasure. 🙂
I didn't like the way it was edited (too many flashbacks probably 10% of the scenes) + too many exhausting scenes (the domestic violence scenes are way too much!) + the dragged out first 8 episodes that could have been compressed to 5 or 6.
Wang Ji Hye's acting kind of bothers me. Whatever expression she's acting - happy, angry, curious, confused - all ahe can do is widen her eyes. Same thing when delivering her lines.

And yeah, 2014, but the script is probably written in 2020
Ep 15
Producer: Sara is going abroad on Christmas
Chae-yeon: abroad?
Kang-jun: she's going abroad on Christmas?
And you'll notice that in each episode. Lol.
