I am coming back here to see how people accepted this drama. It's so good you know, it has its flaws but how they…
Agree. The scar girl amd the divorce subplots are way too draggy, but the acting and chemistry between the leads and 2nd characters are good, so I didnt drop. Also, they did not lose the humor despite the melodrama.
When will Shen Yi confirm that Meng Hui is the girl he scarred? I mean at around ep4 or 5 he will see the scar, but there was a doubt in ep7 or 8 due to the yearbook, leading to the breakup
I think the Thai version stuck with the same plot, script, and pace. In both versions, 8 eps were spent on setting the foreground - this could have been cut down to 5 or 6 eps. The mystery aspect was more interesting, plus the development of the love story could have been shown after the ghost left the FC's body - that couls have seemed more convincing and more fan service, LOL. Plus, they didn't need to rush the final episode given that they had a 2-year timeskip.
Korea has always been better in terms of production details, and they obvsiously have more experience in creating dramas.
In the Thai version, the visuals were good.
I think the locations - especially the restaurant and Sun's room and balcony - looked more fresh and cozy. I especially liked that the hospice scene with Nam and Parin was shot in a garden, not in a cramped room like in the Korean version - it sets the mood for a fresh start.
The Thai actors looked great too. Chemistry was there, I just felt that they paled in comparison to the koreans. For example, the activities in a restaurant setting should have been more fluid, but the actors have mistaken shouting to show energy, LOL.
And if I'll be too picky, Noona's supposedly adorable puppy-like smile looked forced. She could have done better, because that was the reason why people get attracted to her. But to be fair, acting 2 characters was not easy.
Pae Arak was okay, but I felt that he was stiff each time he hugged the FL - it may be the height difference so he needed to bend low, could they have used a box to solve that?
The senior actors - Sun's mother, fortune teller, and Kapoon's father - did well, their scenes, despite the minor storylines - were the most powerful.
Was I alone in wanting the Chinese mob/gang to shank and blow AJ into pieces? She’s the real danger to everyone…
You know what? After ep 14, I got to realize the messqge that this drama is trying to say. This is a male-centerd plot.
Men are not always strong as how we see it in other dramas and women are not always right.
Ae Jung makes bad decisions one after another, and in the process, hurt everyone around her.
Dae Oh had financial and family problema in college so he tried to earn money bh tutoring, then he never knew he has a child because of Ae Jung's poor judgment.
We think Pa Do is a tough guy outside but he lives to love and protect his on-biological son.
Ryu Jin and Yeon Woo make poor decisions because of their commitmen to Ae Jung .
The SFL, I haven't seen ep 22 yet so idk. Saving final eps for the weekend haha
It also reminds me of Put Your Head on my Shoulder, but P&C is warmer and mature.
Also, Because This is my First Life, especially the characters, but P&C is better-paced, funnier, and youthful.
P&C is the nicest for me.
Carmon said in her IG about midnight of UK time, but so far, not yet uploaded
Anyway - when will the ML/FL get together?
