That was the primary motivation for still being with her even after falling in love with noh cos he didn't want to be the jerk that "took her innocence" and ran off. So cos the new series didn't imply that, it doesn't make any sense watching it that phun would still be with her cos there's no reasoning behind it
he also had relations with noh several times in the og so he also couldn't just leave him cos they already were emotionally tied together. That explained why phun was troubled and conflicted choosing btwn aim and noh. And noh gave him up cos he was the "man" and thought he could handle it.
So in this new series because they didn't show it, so now it just looks like phun wants his cake, wants to eat it and gatekeep it for no other reason than he just don't want earn to have noh.
