I read some commentary on Instagram and here on mdl. And I'm trying to understand the uproar. Was the show specifically advertised as a bl show or an lgbtq show? If it was advertised as a bl show then I'd understand why people are upset but if it was marketed as an lgbt show i think I'd give it some grace. Afterall asexuals are part of the rainbow and love doesn't necessarily mean romance
I assumed it was a show about 3 people. Yohan, sumiko and ryu living together in non sexual platonic love. 3 people with trauma and grief that have formed a family. That's what it felt like. Was the show really supposed to be a bl show? Or some vague commentary on how deeply people can love each other regardless of gender and circumstances? and how love simply means choosing another person consistently above all others. Anyways my thoughts
i knew he was a gonna as soon as we were following him inside his car, but his death was so we cud see this blended…
I think they were trying to cram too many things in 8 eps. Maybe they had to cut some things because of netflix...slice of life dramas are supposed to be slow paced but This one was unusually fast paced for all the issues it was dealing with. Should have had 12 eps i think Would have worked better as a movie in my opinion
I'm actually the on3 translating it. https://www.wattpad.com/story/408471292?utm_source=android&utm_medium=link&utm_content=share_writing&wp_page=create&wp_uname=AdlTt0
I started reading first thing this morning. Thank you for translating
This drama really made me realize that Seo In-guk’s career hasn’t evolved the way one might have expected.…
I understand your point
For the past few years a lot of actors have complained that they rarely get work because streaming services want faces they can bank on will bring the viewership so they tend to recycle the same actors and actresses usually from even the same agencies.
Jung hae in had a very successful drama with Netflix. D.p. it was a monster hit and so he will get top billing with them regardless. Seo in guk yes very talented and loved does not have the same value to netflix because his dramas haven't been as successful in the past few years.
And so his management must push him harder. I think this project is a step in the right direction at least his career is having a revival it needs.
I'll give this a 8/10 A short review would do. This is my first drama of jisoo's. I didn't watch snowdrop nor that other one she did. So I came in with no expectations nor bias. Her acting was good. Honestly some crying scenes were a bit tough on her but she protrayed her character's charm and immaturity quite well. A lot of the characters were funny and relatable. If a IRL boyfriend on demand vr comes out. I would be first in line. I volunteer as tribute!!!
My main issue with the drama was her character Seo Mi Rae. She was a coward and at times annoyed me with her refusal to face her feelings and evolve. But when she eventually did, the payoff was so good. Seo In guk was amazing as usual. The chemistry was great especially towards the end and i like as they didn't waste time on the conflict that arose with goo yeong il
My second issue was the choi siwon jumpscare. I dont want to see his MAGA thick skinned face on my screen again
Last week i figured out that toh was probably very lonely thats why he fell for Jimmy so hard so fast. So I'm not too critical over his actions. I just wish he'd cuss jimmy out properly for playing in his face. That spoiler ________---*slap* was not enough for me
The person I'm side eyeing is teh. If you were just going to forgive jimmy why did you throw all that fuss about him dating your brother. Why are you supporting this man that broke his heart.
Yeah Toh should not string that poor man along. He knows exactly how it feels to have his feelings played with He shouldn't stoop to Jimmy's level i.e the gutter for revenge
Thank you
