That's not the reason, its just that the production of kdramas is always better and people always like the acting in kdramas, also kdramas are the most popular in general and that's people tend to vote for and find their favorite actors handsome even if they are not the best looking, its common sense.

The difference is that this drama is actually so good (so far) and no one has dropped it. Unlike Extra Ordinary You, I really liked that drama and had high expectations for it but after a few eps I couldn't watch it anymore so I'm forcing myself watch a new ep every once in a while.
I'm not saying that I'm positive this drama will be much better than everything else but the concept is cool and new which makes me excited for it, yeah there are some cliches like in every other drama but this drama is able to use it as an irony and make fun of the cliches. I had to do a research presentation for my class on South/North Korea's conflict and possible unification and this aired exactly in the week of my final exams which is when I did the presentation. So I'm really excited for it, sorry this sounds more of a personal rant now haha.

No, I've watched the full episodes which are a little over an hour long. But I only saw the preview of Player 101 and some flashbacks to it in later episodes but I never got to watch the actual Player 101 debut when each player showcased their talent. I only saw the parts after Player 101 was supposedly over and it jumped to the fan meeting/press

Stop laughing at everything I say if you want to even know what I'm trying to say, this is not funny. I knew he was gonna die even before I watched this because I read spoilers. I knew he was gonna get shot in that scene, maybe one or two shots. He wouldn't live from that, I KNOW. But I found it ridiculous and made me feel like the drama was a waste because of how an entire competent SWAT team were all shooting him at once as if he is that dangerous. When he was literally was trapped surrounded by all of them, and the hand holding the gun was going down after he killed that criminal, so they could have easily arrested him or just shot him dead once if they really needed him dead. There was no need for them to cause such a stupid scene by having all that armor and raining gun shots at one guy who was about to throw his gun down when he finished his last kill.
I don't know how old you are to think that "bad people" are supposed to be killed, but police are supposed to arrest even the worst of people and have them properly persecuted according to the law. That man who was even worse creating children just to dehumanize them and sell their organs had an easier death than him. They could have just killed him without causing such a dramatic and stupid scene, even the world's biggest enemies weren't sprayed with 20+ gunshots like that.
