Could someone tell me what this drama is about in more of a simpler term?? The ratings and comments all seem so…
The story consists of different sect clans: Jin sect, Lan sect, Jiang sect, Wen sect, etc.
It starts in the present where Wu Xian is summoned back from the dead after 16 years of being dead, he wears a mask to stay low-key from people who might know him. While Wu Xian walks around, people in the city would gossip about how bad Yiling (Wu Xian) is and how he followed the evil path etc (At that point they don't know he's alive again). Then the drama goes back to the past for a really long flash back to 4 years before his death accrued. Wu Xian was adopted by the Jiang sect and became a brother to Yan Li and Jiang Chen. Wu Xian and other young cultivators get invited to the Lan clan sect for teachings. The Lan clan sect are known for their 3000 rules. Wu Xian is selfless, loyal, playful, but he's also a trouble maker, he's the opposite of Wang Ji (from the Lan sect). Lan Wang Ji follows all 3000 rules strictly and was a role model to his Lan sect peers but that changes when he meets Wu Xian. Even though they're both opposite but they end up being good friends, Wang Ji is willing to stand against the world for Wu Xian and always believes in him and stands by him when everyone else turns their back on him. The Wen sect leader was planning evil events and wanted to find all pieces to the Yin metal so he can have full control of manipulating dead human puppets (aka zombies), as a result many clans have been annihilated by the Wen clan. Wu Xian, Wang Ji and other cultivators were working together to solve those mystries around human puppets and the Yin metal. Many things happen that lead to plot twists and will also explain what caused Wu Xian to die and be summoned back but I don't want to say or I'll spoil it. Then the story rewinds back to present after Wu Xian is summoned back then more plot twists and mystries get solved about what happened 16 years ago and during the time Wu Xian was dead. You'll love the bond and trust between Wu Xian and Wang Ji, its based on a BL (boys love/homosexual) novel but since its a Chinese drama, the romance between Wu Xian and Wang Ji is censored (no kissing/ or obvious confessions) but their romance is still very subtle and they try to show us hints of their affection. You can't even call it "bromance" unless you're kidding yourself because its obvious that its more than just bromance.
Once you get throught the first few episodes and understand the characters then you'll enjoy and love the story. I was confused at first because they had different names and titles, but I read a description of the characters online, started reading the novel and the anime. If you're confused about what's happening at the beginning, I recommend you watch the anime which is very short (25 min per ep) even though some scenes or events are changed a little but its pretty much the same point. I'm not very good at explaining but I hope this helped (and I hope I didn't spoil anything you didn't already know)
This is the link to the page that helped me understand the characters but before you look at it, warning: it has a lot of spoilers about each character in the story. I don't mind spoilers as long as I understand the story, characters and their relationship so I didn't mind it. If you want to read a description of the characters without spoilers, I recommend you read only the first 1-2 paragraphs of each character's description because it gives a brief description of what their character is like and their personality. Avoid the other paragraphs under each description if you don't want spoilers. Also there is a short plot summary that explains it better than me.
I started watching this because many users on MDL seemed to be huge fans of it. I never liked to watch anything with wuxia in it but I wanted to give it a try anyways and I'm glad I did, I loved it. I finished it within 4 days, while at the same time started watching the anime and novel. A strong bond like the one between Wu Xian and Wang Ji makes me live and believe in trust. I always was scared of watching historical kdramas because they always make brothers or male close friends kill or betray each other with the name of "power, greed, women."
But this regained my trust in historical dramas and wuxia, it was so beautiful and heartwarming. Now I want to watch more Chinese historical/wuxia dramas with two male leads having such a close relationship that doesn't break whether out of love or friendship
I watched this side by side with the original version incase I miss something because the comments said that there are some added scenes. But from what I saw there are no added scenes, the editing is just different and switched around. Also many important scenes from the original version which showed how Wu Xian and Wang Ji care for each other and scenes that help us see how their relationship grows are edited out of this version. Imo I suggest you watch the original version or you'll miss out on a lot, I only recommend you watch the special version if you've already finished watching the original version and miss it, this is more like a recap of the original
hmm..on fence..if i should even waist my time..its like do i want a headache today?...i think i should just re-watch…
Ratt almost immediately knows that the Lookaew that returned isn't Dada but he plays along for awhile and pretends not to notice, he doesn't let her kiss him tho. I think they save her in episode 18 but later she gets kidnapped again so they save her again in the last ep
hmm..on fence..if i should even waist my time..its like do i want a headache today?...i think i should just re-watch…
I don't exactly remember which episode she wakes up but she'll in somewhere in the last 5 episodes because she'll play part of the villain for a while when she wakes up
hmm..on fence..if i should even waist my time..its like do i want a headache today?...i think i should just re-watch…
Because the fl is dumb af, she does fall for the fake tears and asks ml, ml pretends to agree in giving dee money but never gives dee. If I say how he exactly did that I'd spoil it
hmm..on fence..if i should even waist my time..its like do i want a headache today?...i think i should just re-watch…
Even when she figures out who she is, she still sleeps with him and stays with him as if its very natural. She doesn't even feel a bit mad that he hid it from her xD I found her character to be annoying. But all the plot twists will make it interesting to watch

Yes I bet the fl was a virgin since she didn't date her original bf for long before she got in that accident.
I'm glad you feel the same about Ratt but tbh the fl is in the wrong too because she kept ignoring everyone who kept telling her she's Dada and only believed what the ml had to say. She never even felt guilty for her bf or thought of him when she finally believed she's Dada. Imo both leads are delusional lol. I hated every character except for Din Dan
I watched this around 2 years ago but I keep thinking about it and feeling nostalgic. It's short but so beautiful and I love it. I especially love the ost, until now I keep listening to all the ost songs in a playlist. It's amazing..
Haha I loved this, its full of comedy and made me laugh every bit of it. It kinda reminded me of cross-dressing…
Even though I liked this drama because it was full of laughs, but one thing that annoyed me was how they incorporated the story between the real Pete and the guy who beat him up almost causing suicide. Like from the beginning I had a huge feeling Nat was the guy who beat him just just for the reason that he seemed like the main male villain in the drama. But I wanted my theory to be proved wrong since in the entire 26 hour long drama, Nat acted as though he had nothing to do with Pete at all even when he hangout around Lookjun around Pete (Paul).
It just doesn't make sense, at the end, Nat acts like he could be in trouble if Pete were to tell on him and wanted to assassinate him, yet what happened during the first 10 episodes (20 hours)? He never looked or even said "hi" to Pete even when they ate dinner together with Lookjun that one time, but they want me to believe that I should accept Nat was the guy in episode 1? Even though I had a feeling it was Nat, but they never tried to give hints it was him, you know? I don't understand why they did that.
Also every episode is about 2 hours long, and Pete (Paul) only takes about 1-2 minutes in each episode to "investigate" who did that to his brother without ever coming to a conclusion, then for the rest of the long episodes they just make them do other stuff. I felt this part of the story dragged wayyyyy to much, even for a comedy drama. The drama could have done well without them adding this insignificant and badly presented part
Haha I loved this, its full of comedy and made me laugh every bit of it. It kinda reminded me of cross-dressing dramas where the male leads question their sexuality because they fall in love with a girl thinking she's a boy. Even though cross-dressing doesn't happen in this drama but the romance part still revolves around gender and sexuality, because the Pete is gay and Paul had to pretend he's also gay, she thought that making herself look more masculine by cutting her hair and working out will make him like her. I know others may still not understand how I compared it to "girls pretending to be boys" kind of drama, but in those dramas the guys question their sexuality and here the girl questions he gender (even though for a passing moment)
His name isn't "fatty," its Wayne Zhang/Wen Shuai. You're such a damn horrible human being.
Oh I didn't know they called him like that in the drama but still.. drama characters are fictional, real people should know better and not follow a bad example

Staring with episode 6 and on, things are very good for the fl from the ml side because that's when he starts to feel suspicious that she isn't lookaew, and he will start to be nice to her and possessive of her (even from her mom and original bf). Its been a while since I watched it but I know that around ep 6-8, he'll know that she isn't lookaew and starts to look for evidence to prove to himself that she really isn't lookaew. So you won't feel sorry for dada starting from ep 6 (but he'll keep it a secret from dada)
Also no, lookaew's mother won't be able to wipe her memory (the ml will warn dada to not trust lookaew's mother)

Tbh its up to how you feel about it, this lakorn is full of makjang. Its kind of on the normal side at the beginning and middle, then in the last episodes crazy things happen like killing off the not so good people one by one like roaches lol. It may annoy you how they have evidence in their hands then intentionally destroy it multiple times. but many things keep happening so even tho the plot keeps getting crazier but it may leave you entertained (So its on the crazy side, but not boring side)
Rewatch Sapai import if you want, or try Ruk Nee ... Jhe Jud Hai, it won't give you a headache at all but it may make your stomach hurt from laughing a lot because its really funny. I began laughing constantly just 10 minutes in
