On When the Weather Is Fine Apr 23, 2020
10/10 for me.
Definitely for people who love 'slice of life' dramas. What was the most beautiful and unique in this drama? Side characters. No matter if they got 5 minutes on screen or half of the drama - each of them has a story with feelings to share and advice to tell. Worthy watching. An amazing job of authors and actors.

I love the drama, but I have a question for fellow watchers. I love Im Hwi character and her high school plotline. Do you have any drama in mind with similar character or plotline?

Title Parasite
I watched it like before it became huge but part of me knew since Bong Joon Ho is behind this. But, it wasn't something…
Same, we also thought (with my friends) besides it was indeed a good movie it wasn't entirely The Best of the year. Also we have a theory that the Oscars were given partly due to Korean- EU politics.

anyone know where i can read the novel in english
Funny or not, this motivates me to study Chinese to be able to read the original. It seems like Chinese Narnia, and I love it.

its a novel adaption so that might or might not happen. even if that happens we wont see the same cast. Karry…
Unfortunately, they could go with a different cast. I too, sincerely hope that they will wait for all the actors to get back together. Also with Vicky as an adult, they can pull off better romance between Zhang Bao Qing and Cai Gua. I think it'd be a wise choice to wait even a few years to get a really good sequel. Just hope they won't drop it.

It's NOT TYPICAL MYSTERY DRAMA!
Please do not concentrate on this tag. It has a feeling of thriller and mystery, but it's more psychology/ melodrama/ tragedy with a deeper look into suicidal thoughts.
What I liked the most is how respectful storyline towards anybody suicidal was. Rather than marking them as wrong since the beginning, they let people explain their decisions as their choices not as 'some stupid reasons'. Clever.
I do recommend it if you're not so hocked on the mystery.

"just because you bullied some kids at school" - I dunno but reading this I don't think you should be trivialising…
I do not underestimate bulling. I am saying that they were all just kids. What she did was wrong and it shouldn't be tolerated or normalized, but also shouldn't impact her future so directly. You can be the rudest kid at school, but that should not impact your grades if you're smart. If you're bully, yes, you are doing wrong. Later on, you will realize that life don't like bullies. But you still deserve a future. Yes, even if you were a bully in high school. People should focus more on taking care of the kids (both bully and victim) than destroying their future and dreams. That's way too aggressive and pointless punishment. That wouldn't make anybody reflect on what they did. More likely just fuel the anger or depression.

As a fan of Itazura, I can say that I completely understand that the way it was made is not for everybody and not everybody needs to like it, however, I think people take it way too seriously.
Itazura is one of those comic/manga/anime-like dramas that you just can't watch seriously, there is no reason to do so.
If you try to see it as real-life romance, well, I guess... No... Seriously? why?
Itazura was my first drama ever and I did not know what to expect so I took it as anime in real life. And that's it. It just unrealistic, silly drama portraying the feeling of having a crush, nothing more nothing less. A lot of extreme (and stupid) comedy. I am not saying that it's a masterpiece, but sometimes I get frustrated when people take it to the 'psychology crime' level. This drama is not about real life, and it doesn't even try to look like one.

(but absolutely agree on K2, can't finish it)

I love how people in the comments section at MDL are like :
' boring but enjoyable - 8.5'
I think I won't get used to it ever.

It's a well deserved 8.5 for me.
Was missing some points but not many, and I liked the psychological aspects. I didn't only like how they made Beom Jin, too obvious for me (which made a case bit disappointing) but I liked that they killed him. It got me by surprise.
Also, I was one of those (I hope not the only one) who sympathised with the 'bad' kids. Let's take Yeri. Imagine not being able to accomplish your life dream - just because you bullied some kids at school. It hits harder when you know how it feels to spend your life working towards just one dream. Not even talking about other kids cause most of them died or were murdered. Well, actually... All of them were murdered. So yeah, the life of those kids sucked. A lot.

And, agree, should be tagged as psychology + crime, not investigatin+crime ...

MY GOD THE FINAL SCENE?????????????????????????? Basically this episode confirmed that the killer is really Beom…
GOD, I thought that this ep is not published yet (I've watched up to 12), so I clicked on your comment without thinking.

NEVER EVER OPEN SPOIL COMMENTS ON 'ON GOING' DRAMAS >.<

I completely think its a murder and that Beom Jin is the mastermind behind it and so is his dad. Beom Jin is psychopathic…
Thanks for answers, I wanted to know other opinions since this drama suits this kind of discussion.

I thought that he is a culprit at the beginning, but now I think it would be way too easy. He was too odd and suspicious since the beginning to be the main villain in crime series. After all, we all want to have that shocking plot twist when the most innocent person becomes the real culprit.
Anyway, I am excited to find out whether I am thinking correctly or not. After all if not Beom Jin then who? Nobody else is so suspicious.

I personally think that Jung Soo Ah could have killed herself. And everybody (including society standards, court&education system) is partly responsible for her death. I kinda hope that the message of this drama will be: If that is a suicide case, will that make everyone less responsible?

I hope so. I really do. But since it is crime drama it's highly possible that she was murdered. But then, again, I don't think they've shown the real culprit. Not yet. And I really don't think it is Beom Jin. Something is really off with his attitude. His father is more suspicious, but still, I think more potential culprits will pop up later on.

For those who said that this drama is unrealistic...
-I strongly disagree.-
Well, depends on what you look at.
The investigation itself is treated a bit superficially, but problems are realistic and happen more often than you might think. Bullying that is going on various platforms (school, work, home, court etc.) and through various people. Teachers that mostly worsen the situation trying to help. Schools that are like a prison for students. Rich kids that, surprisingly, actually work hard to achieve their dreams and still are going through hell because of the higher expectations form the society. Poor kids that become victims and get violent because there is no other way to survive. And few people who are trying to save the world from all evil, constantly being disappointed by reality. Sounds familiar? Well, at least for me...

Why the ratings are so low? This drama truly deserve high rating. From plot to acting everything is too good literally…
Honestly, agree. I' am a bit sensitive on this point since I can't forgive people giving Healer ridiculously high rating, so every time I see good crime/action drama below that (Healer's) rating I doubt humanity/

but so far this drama is a 9 for me
Replying to ZalotkaTka Jun 3, 2019
I am currently dropping. Even tho I do recognise it as a good drama, I've missed the hook. There is nothing that…
I did finish it but needed to give it a lot lower rating that I've expected. I thought it'd be a straight 9, but it dropped to 7.5.

If I could explain I would say that the story was a mess.
There was a huge disproportion between story-writing and character-writing&acting. But good acting and camerawork are not enough for me to save the drama. The plot was just boring. I am still not sure what it was about. It is not really investigation, not really biography, not really psychology, definitely not romance. It had a bit of everything but those parts were not connected so it created a mess. Another thing is that characters were so well written that even writers could not create a story they would fit in. I think it is not my fault for not getting the hype as I thought before. There simply is no hook, no storyLINE ('cause the story itself exist but it is just a lot of points not connected to each other).
Basically - potentially amazing drama ruined because of lacking hooks and plot connections.
Still worth try for amazing acting.

I can't get over this drama, lol. Someone please suggest something that is equal in feeling to this one in its…
Yeah, as person that looked for similar drama since I've watched Hello Monster I can recommend : He's Psychometric, Partners of Justice and Witch's Court (all of them got hated due to female lead and 'not satisfying' plot). None as good, but all watchable.
I am starting ' Life on Mars', 'Confession' and 'Mad Dog' to see how are they.
Also, I would recommend SKY Castle if you haven't seen it. Not exactly the same genre but is similar in it's maturity .

I actually enjoyed it.
I really liked the female character. I found the acting to be weird and good at the same time. Kind of see why people don't like it, but it was weirdly charming for me. It somehow felt mature in terms of decisions and reasons. Definitely not the best drama, but I found some rare and intresting things in it.
Give it a try, maybe you will actually like it.
