And to add to your comment. I think we should appreciate Akira's mom. I think she really understands Akira's feelings.…
Yes, this show has made me learn to not to enjoy just the oh how they will end up, but also appreciate the character growth, how they get through that.
This is I think my first romance J-Drama that is unexpectedly deep if you look through it. Came here because of Kasumi Arimura, ended up getting a wonderful drama. Their love is so pure. The emotional ride and stress of this drama is so on another level. It even made my sleep worse after watching this drama. I guess it's just me not used to watching romance drama and getting exposed to this kind of drama.
My favorite scene is the last scene, when they finally meet again, such unexpected another timeskip. When I was about to give up rooting for them. When they meet again after 5 years, without exchanging words, just happy emotions. I think it's satisfying and makes me happy after being tortured with witnessing what they had gone through. I'm happy I keep on watching till the last, it's rewarding trying to empathize with how the characters are going through and getting that ending. I think this one is worth to rewatch, I'll do it some time later, there's still more things I think I can get.
WHY HIJIRI LIKED AKIRA *spoilers ahead* I chose not to tick the spoiler option so that it would be seen more,…
And to add to your comment. I think we should appreciate Akira's mom. I think she really understands Akira's feelings. But she cannot approve Akira's decision to not enrolling university. The couple will not be able to survive if he chose to go straight find job. They might get into really deep despair.
She doesn't have choice to make Akira to enroll university no matter what so he can be fully adult. At the end of the day they become really well equipped to commit full relationship in the end. Akira becoming adult by having completed study so he can have a proper career. Hijiri becomes stronger, gaining true self worth even better career than before. In the end we get the couple which fully prepared to face the life together.
I think we really should focus on the character development and growth for this drama. Imagine if they start relationship when Akira is still 18. They will just be desperate, insecure couple which won't be happy at all in the end, as Akira's mom said.
