Huh. The brothers and her mom were surprisingly quick to agree with Kwang-sook's plan to take over the brewery? Couldn't possibly be that easy, right? LOL @ Kwang-sook taking her mom's deposit and unilaterally investing it into the brewery.
Look, Prickly Hedgehog Dad was extremely cruel and crossed so many lines when he said all those things to Kwang-sook. The back pain is no excuse. But at least he had the decency to immediately apologize and try to make up for it. Very atypical Kdrama ML behaviour in that regard. And despite all her irritation, Kang-sook buying those pain relief patches was sweet too. I like these two.
Again, I like how nuanced Seri's mom is so far. she at least tried to make her husband stop with the schemes. At least she *tried* to protect Eagle Brewery. It's sad bc I know that's not gonna last and she'll turn against the Eagles the moment Kwang-sook & Hedgehog get close, threatening Se-ri's inheritance.
I'm already on the Bom x Eagle Maknae ship... Two really caring, nice people deserve each other :) also, poor Maknae helped Bom and he still got hit with the "Ahjusshi" by Se-ri... 💀
Idol Eagle looks *terrified* whenever he's around Stan Hairdresser. The face he was making when she was doing that scalp massage (?)... I must say though, it was genuinely funny when the neighbourhood ajummas tried to set him up with the piano lady. Something about the way the camera zoomed out and focused on this random gorgeous woman quietly sitting in the corner while Stan Hairdresser seethed.
it became less funny when Stan Hairdresser bribed the piano lady to back off? I know they meant it as comedy, but idk I found the whole thing weird.
the hairdresser and the dance bro would be more romantic if it was love at first sight, or as I initially assumed, the childhood connection trope. her being an obsessed fan makes it so weird ðŸ˜
Honestly, I have questions about Jeong-hun's sister in law. What was it like being the daughter in law of that cold, heartless old man? How did he even allow his eldest to get married to a school principal? What was it like watching her husband being crushed every day by the old man's expectations?
Also like... Does Su-hyeon need a FIL like that in her life? Still rooting for Su-hyeon x Jung-hun tho.
The comedy worked for me, the horror elements were effective, and the first two episodes were just so fun. My fav parts were honestly the ML's friendship with In-ho and just the set up at the barracks. (I really hope the hotel lady makes it too, her dynamics with the rest of the guys could be fun.)
the setup around the FL seems a bit less interesting but she's slowly amassing a squad of her own on the way to the tower, so let's see. Her acting was also not that bad imo. (Also, loved that brief cameo (?) by Choi Hee-jin! wish she was onscreen longer).
Re: the romance. I was on her side, and ready to hate him because of how clingy and immature he seemed at first, but nah. He genuinely looked at it from her perspective and was willing to let her go, for the sake of her happiness. Maybe they shouldn't get together again, but I'm willing to see where this relationship goes.
P.S. Did you guys catch the newscasters talking about opportunistic crimes during the zombie outbreak, like robbery and... sexual assaults? That seems very realistic for a situation like this, was surprised to see it brought up in an ostensible comedy.
Se-ri is already trying to back out of a marriage with Beom's oppa. still not sure how's she gonna fall for her single dad prof tho.
I wish Beom told her dad or bro about this stalker. hedgehog dad alone would end that guy.
I felt so bad for Beom's prof. Seri's mom is so vulgar... but she has surprising nuance so far. at least he tried to give another job to Baek Sa-eon's dad and felt some sympathy for the Eagle Brothers. her husband is just gross tho
this was really good, the comedy was not over the top and the horor elements were still effective. everyone's acting is good and there are no annoying characters (so far).
I already know the cliffhangers are gonna kill me tho ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
My very first weekender! I honestly enjoyed both eps! I like how FL's character is bright and positive without being a pushover. I like how the brothers are genuinely quite caring and affectionate towards each other. The eldest brother was such a sweet person, it sucks he had to be killed off to start the plot.
There were no *too* annoying characters so far, nor a lot of shouting matches, which is nice. It might be a bit of a challenge to keep track of 5 different couples though lol.
I assumed that Yoon Park's character would be paired with Han Bom... but apparently he's being paired with Se-ri? And I thought the second eldest brother was married, but they're already setting the stage for a relationship between him and the convenience story lady?
good second episode too. I have so many questions - how does Tomoya's mom fit into all this? why did she leave and never meet her son? his dad was obviously framed, by the cop friend of Komugi's dad... and maybe Komugi's dad too?
also how did noone ask questions about the surviving baby girl all these years?? how was Komugi's dad able to raise the child of a murdered family for so long?
