I watched this series because of Yuko Araki fully expecting it to be nothing but generic over the top japanese…
Like if you want recommendations for good Japanese rom-coms, just ask and we'll be happy to give you some. Please don't make such a blanket statement about jdramas, many of which are great.

What jdramas have you watched that they only make you cringe lol
Yeah, some adaptations of manga and some comedies have exaggerated expressions and acting but doesn't represent most jdramas, which often have serious and even very dark themes.
This drama is surprisingly fun and interesting. Still uncomfortable with how they depict the police, but that's just my biases. Otherwise, it's a really enjoyable show. Also, I kind of ship Makitaka with Minamoto? Idk, I can't see her with the weird cat cafe guy.
