An amazing movie and one of my favourites from 2020. A simple but effective story, with magnificent acting from the entire cast and moving, tear-jerking moments. Delves deep into the culture of collective punishment and media frenzy and trial by public opinion. 9.5/10 from me.
Are you sure? Because every time he's the one who initiates intimacy and she's always refusing or pulling away…
True, but in most of the bed scenes, she always seems to be reluctant and unwilling and never gives clear consent but he pushes ahead anyways. It makes me really uncomfortable and is my only major issue with this drama.
oh so the special was just the highlights? I thought it was a new or additional story XD
Wait, when was Hase a client? I don't remember that
I don't really remember that happening but I feel like it was probably just a friendly advice session rather than in a professional capacity. As seen with Kurumi, he seems to have a strict policy against dating his patients/clients.
No, I think it's translated by someone who knows what they're doing. After watching so many jdramas, I recognize a lot of words and phrases and it seems to me that WeTV give different meanings to them than I would expect... But I'm not even fluent in Japanese, which apparently is a very context-based language, so for the most part I'd say that the subtitles are really good. I actually prefer the WeTV ones to the fansubber's, since the English grammar is better.
Now that the show is finished... might have to give it a watch myself. What am I in for? Cliche soap-opera drama?…
Think of it as a very light romcom jdrama with a lot of influences from popular kdramas and cdramas. It's very fun but it's not exactly the best from this year.
