Wow, I'm enamored with Esther Yu's performance in "Fairy and the Devil," especially alongside Dylan Wang, and my admiration for her only grows as she shares the screen with Xu Kai in "Sword and Fairy"– my three favorite actors! Where do I even begin to express my enthusiasm for this Chinese Drama "Sword and Fairy"?

Esther's portrayal is simply adorable; she embodies the character with such charm that if I had a daughter, I'd hope she'd be just like her. The intricate weaving of the storyline by the writers is truly commendable. A heartfelt thank you to the writers for their incredible work!

Let's talk about Xu Kai – OMG, not only did he flawlessly deliver lines for two characters, but he also brought a third one to life without uttering a single word (saying that metaphorically)! The seamless production of scenes featuring all three Xu Kais on screen is a testament to the phenomenal work of the screen production team. Xu Kai, your portrayal of two characters is nothing short of extraordinary – I applaud you wholeheartedly.

Esther Yu faced a similar challenge, memorizing lines for one character and bringing her to life with such grace. Again, a big thank you to the screen producer for skillfully presenting two Esthers in one scene. The love between the two characters was beautifully depicted, and I found myself rooting for them till the very end. Speaking of which, that final scene left me wanting more – writer, what was that? I yearned for them to embrace each other with open arms!

The supporting cast, who stood by the two leads, also deserve recognition for their remarkable performances. Every actor and actress breathed life into their roles, making the story truly come alive for me. From the captivating set to the exquisite costumes, the stunning martial arts sequences to the enchanting animation – every aspect of the production was executed with perfection.

Once again, a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for a job well done. This drama wouldn't have been a perfect 10 for me without the dedication and talent of every member of the cast and crew.

This was another good historical drama. I loved how the screenwriters made this historical drama from the beginning of Empress Dugu's life to the end of her life. I love these types of historical dramas. Joe Chen who played Empress Dugu played the main lead with all she had. She did awesomely well. She played a strong role as a younger Jialuo but her role as an Empress kind of softened. Empress Dugu hung in there for her love of Yang Jian who later became the Emperor. The romance between the two main roles is impressive to me. What they had to go through to get where they were. Wow! Chen Xiao what an excellent actor who played Yang Jian who later became the Emperor. The love he had for Jialuo is impeccable. I love this actor.

The costumes, OMG were beautifully designed. The visuals, the martial arts, and the music all were excellent. Thanking the other two main leads and supporting actresses, I applaud all of you. The rest of the team, I also applaud you, this story became alive in our thoughts once again.

This is a Re-watch Review

I re-watched and understood the movie in July of 2022. I did like the storyline but loved the visuals, especially the underground-type vault. The First time I watched this was Sept 20, 2021. Mickey played one crazy Duke Qiu Zi Liang and was very believable. I just love Cheng Yi... I loved him in The Promise of Chang’an, Love and Redemption, The Lost Tomb 2, Noble Aspirations II, and Noble Aspirations. Can hardly wait for Noble Aspirations III. China Entertainment is stopping and banning a lot of Chinese Dramas. I will feel really sad if they stop Noble Aspirations III. I wasn't crazy about the ending, I cried.

This was very long, I mean long. I took a point off the storyline because I felt bad for the actress Zhang Yu Xi (now I know where they got the name Yu'er)who died, was injured, and got kicked out of the palace so many times. Poor Cheng Yi dying throughout the whole storyline. The way they performed, they did it so well. A lot of martial art is the best for me. Did Cheng Yi lose weight for this drama, he looked really thin. This drama was more of a mystery of who did it which made it interesting. A lot of killing which I did not care for especially of children. The visuals, music, and costumes were okay. Of course like I always say the story couldn't be complete without all the other actors and actresses so I applaud them.

NOTE: Youtube has this Drama which is a similar story but not quite under the same name "The Mortal Samsara", a Chinese Drama starring Zhang Yu Xi. Don't get it confused with the new Fantasy drama The Mortal SamSara- Xianxia Fantasy Drama starring Yangzi

Rape Awareness

I really absolutely like this drama! Hu Yi Tian did a wonderful job portraying Shen Qing Juan. He was brilliant in the part he had playing a character who had a mental disorder. I applaud him. Hu Yi Tian (I love his name) stands at 6.2 ft ., wow, he had to play basketball. Looking at the height of Xing Fei who stands at 5.5 Ft., wow what a difference. Her head came to his chest. Dang, I would be a child standing next to him. Xing Fei did extremely well being almost a foot shorter than her lead actor. So cute. Xing Fei was born in Mongolia where my ancestors began, I was happy about that. This story hits home with me as a kidnap and rape survivor. I am so happy that they brought awareness of Rape to the forefront of this drama. I was a little perturbed when they did not show the outcome of a serial rapist. The visuals were perfect. I am thanking all the support actors/actresses because without them the story wouldn't be complete. oh yes, I have to see more Hu Yi Tian... he is so handsome and a brilliant actor.

This was a great story. These were very different dramas that I have viewed. You have to watch it to understand what I mean. This drama was hilarious and serious at the same time. The two main leads are very complicated. What they have to do in their characters is played out with professionalism. The visuals, location, costumes, martial arts...it was all there. The ending was perfect. Thanking everyone, the supporting actors and actresses, the producers, the screenwriters, and all of the ream of Mr. Queen.

Emotions: Anger

I was going to give this a low rating when I became angry with the writers in the last two episodes. I mean crap, you have me focused for 16 episodes with everything that was good, loving, fighting, protection of others... and you do a left turn into traffic run a red light hit pedestrians. The Pedestrians would be those who are watching this KDrama. I mean WHYYYY??? WRITERS... why did you have to go there? I'm in tears not because of the Drama... I'm crying because you left me out in the rain with no jacket on and it's freezing. The two main leads who played the palace maid and the Crown Prince... Lee Jun Ho OMG, he is fine as he wanna be... them muscles, those abs... He was so convincing in this drama, a very skilled actor. Lee Se Young who played Sung Deok Im was also convincing when she was in her role. Right now, I am mad at the writers because I was going to give this a 10 just for keeping my focus, and you kicked my focused self to the curb.

Yang Zi is one of my top Chinese actresses but in this storyline, I felt this part wasn't made for her. Most may agree with me or NOT. Is just my observation. The stories of all the people that needed help, I can understand. We do need psychiatry in our society in this world today. I have had my own issues after all nobody is perfect. I wished that psychiatry had a 6th sense to help others because we surely need it. I love the romance part between Yang Zi and Bo Ran... it was quiet. It take me a while to watch after episode 30 for some reason I just couldn't get into it but I did. Thank you for the ending! yayyy No suicide deaths!

Interesting storyline

The storyline was very interesting regarding the subject "Abandonment". How the screenwriters portrayed abandonment can also be real for some children that are going through the same horrific truths. I'm glad the screenwriters told this story and how it all came about and how it ends. Except for me, it didn't end. I wanted to see more and felt cheated. You will see why at the end. The other topic was "Forgiveness". We all need to learn how to forgive because if you don't, you only hurt yourself in the long run.

Tan Song Yun who played the character Li Jian Jian: Excellent
Song Wei Long who played the character Ling Xiao: Outstanding... cute too.
Zhang Xin Cheng who played the character He Zi Qiu: Excellent
Tu Song Yan who played the character Li Hai Chao father of Li Jian Jian: Outstanding
Zhang Xi Lin who played the character Ling He Ping father of Ling Xiao: Excellent

This was so worth watching if you love a fantasy drama. I mean these four actors which I love Dylan Wang who played the Dragon King, Bambi Zhu who play 4 different personalities, Den Wei a new actor who played Lord of Luofeng Pavillion, and then you have bluebird played by Pan Mei Ye. Dylan Wang had an important main lead role in the Dragon King. I mean, so good, so talented, I love this actor (sorry I already said that). Those costumes he was wearing and that last one... so handsome. I loved him in Ever Night Pt 2, Meteor Garden and by the heart of me don't understand why the rating is 7.7. If you don't rate this high then you are not one that loves a great fantasy. I mean everything was put in place, the visuals of the Martial Arts, the immortal magic... the Heavenly Palace... the dragon pool. I mean it was all there and none of it look faked well except the wolves. LMao. This drama had a little humor added to it not much but a taste of it. You had to smile! Bambi Zhu was absolutely wonderful. I am glad her storylines were not so naive and silly. She played all her parts like she was supposed to and loved how she played a strong military General. Den Wei, a new actor, and wow another handsome one. He did really well being this was his first drama. I was very impressed by him. Pan Mei Ye. I mean, she was the actress who brought the humor... she didn't overdo her part but was excellent in bringing her character to the fold. I loved it. This is a rewatch for me. I stayed focused on each episode. Thank you to the team of Miss the Dragon, I hope there will be a part 2 because of how it ended. Enough said.

I'm on an Allen Ren kick... What a fabulous actor! Ren playing the character of Xu Xuan was absolutely believable. My eyes stayed focused on his acting. I loved everything about him and he is now on my Top 10 list of Chinese Actors. I am going to watch everything he has done. Yang Zi is another beautiful and perky actress, I love her, she has been on my top ten Chinese actress list since her first drama Ashes of Love. This character Bai Yao Yao / Xiao Bai was perfect for her. Mao Zi Jun, I want to see more of him and I feel that I have. He did really well but it shocked me to see him bald. Li Man who played "Green Snake" Xiao Qing, I love her! This role was also perfect for her. I wished that the story kept her... shh not going to give it away.
Since this was in 2018 the technical visuals, at times you can see it was real, but that's okay because I just focused on the story. I loved the storyline. The martial arts, fantasy, visuals, the dragons, were all excellent. Thank you to everyone who participated in this drama.

I loved this storyline and I will be watching "Go Go Squid" part 1. I love robotics and I have never seen this sport before. I love it and wished we had technology while I was in high school. I mean we had computers but they were not in the homes yet. Anyway, I loved the storyline. I mean who would want a man to love one woman for 10 years? I definitely would. This drama had a calming effect on my mind well except for the competition. I was revved up even though I knew that it was only a story.
The two main leads: Hu Yi Tian who played Wu Bai (DT) was tall and handsome for sure. When he was wearing that wedding suit OMG the muscles in his thighs showed through. I need to see more of this actor. He was believable and made the story seem real.

Li Yi Tong who played Dt. Appledog did a great job. She was also believable in her character! I love some of the outfits she wore. I felt this character was somewhat tomboyish. That is me!

So Glad that the Actor/Actress YangZi and Li Xian were brought back to get married. Yangzi is one of my top 10 favorite Chinese Actresses... so love her.

Yoo Seung Ho plays the character of Dong Baek who has telepathic by touch and Lee Se Young plays the Police Detective Han Sun Mi. I loved YSH in "I'm Not a Robot"! FINALLY! A drama without romance or a triangle love and not somebody fighting over who gets who! Too funny! This a story that is a DRAMA! I enjoyed every episode and didn't have to skip to the next one! Every episode had my focus. This is a rewatch! The main actors were true to their story and the supporting actors were great! Honestly, I didn't think it was going to end the way it did... you know that one part that you try to guess who the real criminal is and when you get to that part... IT'S LIKE "I didn't know that was coming"! DO NOT SKIP TO FIND OUT... You have to watch each episode... it's only 16 episodes so you can hold out! If you do... you will ruin the whole story for yourself. HA! Thank you, writers! I needed the suspense!

wow, I was kind of confused about the ending. Keywords: "the past" "Irene". I don't know if she took off again or what. It seems like the character was going to love her no matter what and no other woman will be able to win his heart. The writers were very gutsy with this storyline. Again, writers, you put the third wheel in the romance again. Why? Can we just have a story without two women wanting the same man? Ugh! I love Seo Kang Joon, it never surprises me that he would play the character as he should. He did awesomely! I love the town atmosphere or set! I would love to go to a small bookstore like that where you can enjoy home-brewed coffee and read a book.

I was kind of hesitating whether I should watch this but here I am. It starts well and hopes it will end well. I've always liked the acting abilities of Park Seo Jung and wanted to see him in this type of drama as I loved him in Hwarang. But it wasn't what I thought it was. I did not like the ending! In my first review, I gave it an 8 but after I did my research and understood what this drama was about... I changed my review to a 10.

storyline: The storyline has its twists but it is continual in one thought. It is not so much revenge or avenging but for a person to take responsibility for what they have done. I wished everyone even those in corporate or government to take responsibility for what is intentional or not intentional. What I love about this is the diversity of actors and how it brings that diversity onto the screen. What I hate the most is discrimination against a person's skin tone, gender, age, disabilities, weight, height, the poor and middle class, and religion. The awareness is in this drama! I understand a little more as I couldn't stop thinking about this drama. For a minute, I was angered because I thought Park Seo Joon was killed off. That's what I get for not watching Ep 15-16.

I didn't understand and asked myself why Itaewon. Was that all true to what I was watching? I did some research and found this link on youtube. you should watch it which has changed my mind on how I rated it. I understand South Korea a little more. Itaewon is the only place in South Korea where you can feel Freedom and Diversity and that was explained in this drama but not as clear as I wanted. So here is the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OutGsIwEg5o It's in English so no need for subtitles.

It always comes down to a triangle romance in these dramas but were no females fighting so that is a good thing. I wanted Park Seo Joon's character to end up with Oh Soo Ah. The chemistry was not there for Park Seo Joon and Kim Da Mi. The kiss was there for Park Seo Joon but I'm sorry not for Kim Da Mi.

Where to begin, I have to remember that this is being written by a young man who is the main lead in this venture, his own venture. Zhang Ruo Yun did amazing! Since this is my first time viewing his acting abilities, this drama series makes me want to see more of him in other projects he has done already. I always say that a movie or drama series doesn't become a hit without the rest of the cast and in this series they were all amazing. The visual with the wall was genius!

I only had one quip of the storyline and that is... listen... I know men will be men but dang mostly in every drama I have seen, only two dramas men were loyal to the woman they love. The flirting mentality of a man I ask why all the teasing and temptations of different women in front of them when the character already is committed to one? I would love to see a drama series more than ONCE that a man is loyal to Love such as 10 miles of Peach Blossom (Eternal Love) or Legend of Fu Yao! I would love to see this in "Joy of Life"! This is just my opinion.

I know Joy of Life will be a great hit and have seen that it has already started winning awards for that Thank you!
