everyone who dropped it your loss its actually a decent show and if you picks shows based on what ratings say…
I always tell people that instead of just going by the ratings, if they're interested in it, they should check it out for themselves and come to their own conclusions about whether it's good or not. Not everyone's tastes are going to be the same, what you might like another person might hate. "One man's trash is another man's treasure" is a saying for a reason, and you won't know for certain whether it's "trash" or "treasure" until you give it a shot.

But in the meantime, I am curious, would you prefer doomed yuri or no yuri at all? I know a lot of people don't want it unless it has a happy ending, or at least a decent ending where they don't die, which is fair. I definitely prefer the more positive representation given the chance, of course, but at the same time I feel like "bad publicity is still publicity". Sure, it isn't perfect or even done well at times but at least they're willing to give it a try and put it out there; instead of pretending that it doesn't exist at all. The negatives can always be fixed as long as there's someone out there willing to do it.

the characters weren't so likeable yes but overall it was a nice watch, plus the ending was somewhat realistic.…
Maybe it's because South Korea is still a mostly conservative country and we all know how conservatives usually feel about us (the LGBTQIA+ community). Yes, things are getting slightly better (as SherisaWeston stated below) but they still have a long ways to go.
