I think this filmed in 2019... I WAS excited, but seeing that it is taking this long to be released has be re-thinking…
I don't know why it took a while for it to release, but it is not that rare for chinese drama to wait a year or two to be released. I heard that the crew put a lot of work into it. The script was worked on for a while and revised hundreds of time. The producer spent 6-7 years researching the history of that time period and the university, where many talented individual graduated from. A lot experienced actors took a part in this drama, and the filming locations are based on what the people from long ago experienced. Of course, as a fan, I am watching it for Dylan but the crew really value this project, so I am not worry about the quality.
I just finished reading the translated novel version and y'all, I am super excited for the drama adaptation. I…
There are some pictures that fans took of Dylan with white hair. Also, there is this moment in the trailer where it showed Dylan with white hair. It is very quick though.
I heard the producer is blaming Liu Xue Yi for not compromising with low payment What's that all about??
It really doesn't matter if this is true or not because the investment for this project has dramatically decreased to the point that the quality is not guarantee to be the same. Xianxia drama require a lot of money with all the costume, scenes, special effects, etc. With not enough money to fund all of this, the drama will be a bad quality drama and in the end, it is the actors that everyone will criticize. I am actually glad that Liu Xueyi didn't go ahead with this project because it is better for him to pick dramas with better scripts. Also, I doubt he reject the project merely because of the low payment. When he was filming Qing Luo (with the same producer), he already experienced a paycut and filmed without a salary for a month. And let say Liu Xueyi did reject the project because of low payment, the producer can just find another actor who is not as expensive; the project didn't need to be cancelled just because of one actor. In reality, the company IQIYI is going through a rough time financially and a lot of drama were cut and cancelled. There was no need for the producer to go online to blame Xueyi, but he did because he couldn't complain about the company and the people who funded this project. They are more powerful than he is. Hence, he put the blame on someone less powerful. After all this, we have the remember that this drama is never officially confirmed; Li Xueyi is never officially confirmed as the main lead for this drama.
