I mean the cliches are what make dramas iconic but it's a matter of how they choose to own the cliches and not use them to solve all problems (i.e. childhood connection = fate = should be together --> cheap)

Also don’t forget the actress is also wearing a fat suit in the drama, otherwise she’s actually gorgeous in real life and embraces herself (unlike her character/characterisarion)
