I love how this comments section is like 50% "Reccs for what to watch after being partially brain damaged by watching…
For me it would be, top male leads in historical cDramas:
1. Xie Wei 2. Dong Fang Qing Cang (Love Between Devil and Fairy) 2. Ling Bu Yi (Love Like The Galaxy) 3. Tantai Jin (Till The End Of The Moon) 4. Gu Qianfan (A Dream of Splendour)
I love male leads with a spin, who are willing to risk it all for the woman they love. Which is why, even though Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms is one of my favourite cDramas, I see too many flaws in Ye Hua.
I just cannot get over this epic creation. It's been more than a month or so since I finished watching and rewatching and yet cannot get over Xie Wei and Xue Ning. No drama comes close to this series.
I also came to watch it because of LYN as I loved him in The Long Ballad. He honestly didn't disappoint, but the romance seemed forced. I liked Ren Ruyi's character but them paired together didn't gel well.
I also believe it was a gradual process. In my mind Xie Wei always had a lot of respect for her, but he starts…
Very well put. The qin playing did bring them together. Yan Lin's positive affections for her too played a role, I agree.
Yes, Lu Xian's and Fang Yin's marriage did plant an idea in his head. I didn't like the Zhang Zhe arc, ff most of it. But I guess, that bit had a role to play and because of ZZ we get to see XW's possesive side
Man, this is where I hate bad translations. "Your life belongs to me" sounds so much better than "I'll take your life". Thanks for clarifying that now.
A lot gets lost in translation and transliteration. Hopefully, one day I can watch cDramas without subtitles :).
I'm beginning to really like these 'grey' characters - Dongfang Qing Chang, Tantai Jin, Xie Wie.
I've thoroughly enjoyed watching this series. Xie Wie and Jiang Xue Ning's chemistry is fire. When do my fellow MDLers think he fell for her?
I feel it was a gradual process. It probably started with gratitude (after she saved his life), then curiosity (when he overhears Yan Lin talking to Shen Jie about her), followed by more curiosity when he visited the Jiang residence and learned how she dealt with the theft of her jewellery.
After that, I think it was care (he saves her from the rebel) and then amusement (when she tries to fail the palace exam). She puzzles him and he tries to figure her out in the encounters after that.
I can't pinpoint when he actually falls for her. Was it when he learns that she was scapegoated for the Ruby Scepter rebel case or when he finds out that she likes Zhang Zhe?
I think it’s perfect. Because she is doing exactly what her mom did. Got pregnant by another man then claimed…
I agree, can't wait to see how it all unravels. This is the best revenge drama I've ever seen. So good. Hopefully, they don't ruin the next two episodes.
