I feel most people did not really understand this drama and let me explain its the worst of Japanese story telling...
Technically the drama only really started at the end ( it's like how the make a romance drama and have the leads interact with other people, have the lead grow separately while meeting occasionally to further the romance and plot and then have them actually only get together at the end leaving us wanting to see their journey as a couple together)
In this case we had them actually not really trying to be together, they were never a unit only individuals sharing a house, trying to get along. it never felt like they were something or actually WORKING on being something. Instead we spent time with them individually as they tried to find thier place in this mess of a relationship, find thier person and fine thier confidence as individuals and as a team.
Yuuki accepting his feelings for shuuhei ( pay attention he never really wants to leave misaki, but does what others wanted him to do)
Misaki, looking past only yuuki and realising she wants more PLUS yuuki... Find herself and actually being part of the team instead of the person always observing and obsessing over every look or action between yuuki and Shyuuhei ( the scene were she changes sits so she could watch them)
Shyuuhei finding a home that finally accepts him and the fact that he loves two people at once,instead of that girl friend who alway managed to shame him and put him down( he broke my heart in that break up scene I always thought he had the most power person in this relationship only to réalise he had the most to lose as they broke up with him and then each other, he didn't only want yuuki to him yuuki and misaki were his happiness and they were giving up on him and each other)...
To me the show succeded in showing me people who came to realise love can be attraction, romantic, platonic, intellectual and just comfort and this is what they are going towards... And most importantly the intimacy, which I feel like every jdrama they fail to show us but it is there, that bond and care for each other without them knowing has been growing in the back ground which is why I loved the scene where shuuhei is waiting at the window for misaki and yuuki tells him to relax and how the all went down to get her, I loved how simple and effortless they seem to fit as a family once they could relax and breath around each other.
The show has shown us that they have move forward from being confused about who they are to actually wanting to find out about who they are together, before they were not in a relationship but struggling to get to a relationship and now that they are about to get into it the show ended on us and people are confused.
"moonlight chicken" is best for messy plot but beautifully done series.
I actually watched that and stopped half way ( when it claimed wen wasn't cheating blah blah blah) and just got spoilers... Funny enough the show wasn't messy enough for me... I think the show was too scared to go there and not know how to come back...
I want closure for everyone but before getting there I want tears, more tears heart break, messy love triangles and jaded characters you love one minute and then hate the next minute...
But I might watch the show again because of wen and his ex boyfriend ( now if this was the focus of Moonlight Chicken I would have had the time of my life, imagine living with an ex whom you dated for 5 years, who you felt out of love with but continued dating him because you felt "sorry" for him and even slept with him for this same reason even after breaking up) all I need is popcorn

Okay from my understanding Ana has been unlucky with love... Meaning because he is/was so desperate for it people toon advantage of that and am sure it was the whole "if you like me you will prove it by sleeping with me" which he did and then it became campus news that he is easy and as long as you are nice to him he will sleep with you...
