This is my first time not being able to watch an episode as soon as it gets released. I read a few posts/comments of people not liking ep 14. I was wondering what could be so bad. I just watched it and I actually liked it.
I was happy for SR because of her 3rd place win. After feeling down about her job applications getting rejected this was definitely a boost for her. It gives her that push to continue trying to make her dream come true. Loved that SH is always trying to encourage her and helped her open her cooking channel. The comment that was left on it was very moving and her reaction after reading it made me cry.
I was happy to see DH, ME and YD as a happy family even with her mom against them. I'm glad it didn't take long for her mom to see that her daughter is happy and give her approval. Yes, they're in their 30s so they don't really need the approval of a parent, but it's always nice to have it.
As for the proposal...I felt so bad that nothing was going his way. He had so many things planned but everything failed. Like DH said, he should've postponed it. I do have to say, the way he ended up proposing was actually perfect, better than everything he had planned. Sadly he didn't get the answer he wanted. I do wish she would've given the reason for rejecting him, but I'm again glad it didn't take long to clear that up. I think the majority of us thought she would reject him because he was moving too fast, but that wasn't the case. SR doesn't want to promise to be with him for a long time because she doesn't know what can happen to her. The fear of the cancer coming back and putting him through all that is real. She already went through it before with her ex. If it wasn't for that she would've immediately accepted his proposal.
Again, I like that they resolved things without dragging it for too long. SH made her see that nobody can guarantee to live a long time. Anything can happen at any time and we can't live with that fear. I'm going to consider that last scene a second proposal and once again I thought it was perfect. They both want to spend their lives together no matter how long that may be. SR finally accepting his proposal and seeing both of them happy made that journey worth it. BUT of course the parents find out.
I honestly don't know why some think the fight between the mom's came out of nowhere when it has been hinted at since episode 1. There has always been something there since the very beginning. The inferiority complex of MS and HS being jealous that SH is closer to MS, that MS is a better mom. That fight was going to happen soon and things finally exploted. It's just ended up being bad timing of the mom's finding out about the relationship. Now they're against them being together only because of the fight. But this drama has always resolved conflicts quickly so I'm sure everything will be fine by the end of ep 15 and we'll have happy moments for ep 16.
Oh! I forgot to say...the whole you're my salt, sugar and sesame oil was so cute. It was always SR including food in her confessions and now he did it too.
I won't be able to watch the episode until maybe tonight, but I saw some clips. Looks like she would've accepted his proposal if she wasn't worried/scared that her cancer might come back. Although I wish she had told him right away her reason for rejecting him, I'm glad it didn't take long for her to say it.
This is my 4th weekend drama I watch while it's ongoing. Every time I finish one I say I won't watch another one but then the first episode gets released and I end up starting it. So here's to me not learning 🥂 but lets try to enjoy the ride! At least this one won't be 6 months.

Actually since the beginning when SR's mom mentioned setting DH and SR, ME's mom said no and didn't want him for her daughter either. Being friendly and nice to him doesn't mean she wants him for her daughter. It never crossed her mine that they both would end up liking each other so she didn't mind them being friends. He is a single dad and that automatically disqualifies him as a love interest for her daughter so I already knew she would be against their relationship.
I love seeing them dating and in love. I do understand why it took SR a while to realize/accept that she was in love but glad she finally did.
There was a bit of a bump there but I was glad they actually sat down an talk about it. After having such a great job it's hard to start over. After being rejected over and over SR's self esteem does take a hit. I think it was good that she asked for some time to get herself back on track since right now she's embarrassed and although SH wasn't happy about it, he respect her need for space and didn't contact her. It was until SR was ready that she reached out first.
I didn't imagine her first "I Love You" this way but I like it. She has a unique way of confessing and somehow food is always involved.
Preview: I know he's been in love for decades but that proposal still seems fast. I mean, I do want to see them get married but I don't know if SR is ready for that step. They haven't even told their parents about the relationship, unless that happens early on in ep 14 and the proposal is left until the end of the episode.
Oh! As for DH, I did figured they would go for the uncle plot but they gave him a very sad back story, he lost everyone in one accident except his niece. I also understand why he rejected ME. He kept thinking he needed to protect her when she's strong enough to do that herself. Glad he realized he didn't need to be her hero and finally got the courage to say something. I also knew her mom would be against the relationship but I'm sure it won't take long for her to give in
Very good start. I'm loving the leads together. They seemed to be so in love (and still are) so I'm curious to know exactly what happened. This is my first drama of Kentaro and he's doing such a great job. During both the happy and sad moments there's just something in his eyes that's making me fall for him.
The actor Hong Jong Hyun is someone I've only seen in maybe 2 or 3 dramas but there's something about him that always makes my heart skip a beat and with the few minutes we saw him during ep 1 I already know it's going to break my heart if she ends the engagement...but at the same time I want the leads together.
Ugh, what is up with Sun Jae’s son? He seems like a creep, taking photos of Cho Won secretly.
From what I understood, CW looks exactly like his mom did at that age cause even his dad confused her for a moment. That of course is not an excuse to be taking her pictures without her consent
