okay, straight off the bat. It would have been fun if the FL had the internal monologues as a dialogue with the audience by breaking the furth wall. I mean that would've put her energy and innocence on the same level as that of Luna in the The rain in Espana

The story is strong with this one. I read some comments where readers of the book liked the series, and those watching the series complained about the acting etc.

Many people felt that the FL was unnatural but there were some who found her amazing. Overall, I found the story to be engaging and the break up was very unusual and I don't think I have seen or readthat plot twist ever before.

TBH as someone who hardly posts on MDL, this lady and her portrayal of the Princess was worth commenting over. It is not that only she could have done this role, I think looking at the current crop of CDrama B(?)Listers there are others who could've also done it equally well. Many times you see actors fall in the trap of maintaining their image over portraying the character, and she chose the latter. The character is a brilliant contradiction of characteristics. She is powerful, but yet powerless. She loves, but is still unloved. She hates, but yet is pitied. She is devoted, but gets used. Over all, she is the perfect foil for Mu Dan's character. I hated You Zhen every time she came on screen, but loved the way Ya Qin portrayed her. She devoted herself to the craft, and it shows.
