who would've thought I'd cry harder at episode 10! honestly 100/10 drama. absolute cinema. I'm so at a loss for…
Yes, there is representation of a lesbian character, and there are discussions of how these feelings are experienced, plus the conflict of the character grappling with these feelings due to the nature of the plot. But it's validated and handled in a respectful way imo. I guess you can say it's not really a "deep study" of LGBTQ themes considering the broader themes/plot of the drama, but still it wasn't sidelined and had its impactful moment/s in the story and it was tackled just enough imo. Just one thing though, it might just be me but until the character started acting different, I never had an idea, I don't think there were hints early on (I could have just missed them) so that came as a little bit of a surprise
is aoi their biological sister? was confused by this
aoi is their half-sister. it says in the article that kudo wrote that they are siblings from a different mother. basically aoi's mom and hiroto (and mikkun)'s dad had aoi first, and for reasons we don't know, separated, and then hiroto's dad married hiroto's mom and had hiroto and mikkun. then for reasons we don't know (again), aoi's mom either died, or she just abandoned aoi, so their dad took aoi into their current family.
This was so heart-warming and the ending was bittersweet. The mystery/drama was okay, but I think it sort of fell flat with how high-stakes it seemed to be building into, then it just sort of fizzled out because they... wanted to explore the abusive dad's backstory I guess. I know there's a lot of nuance to be had, and it's not all black and white, but I wish the story had sided more with Yurugi's belief that Hiroto and Shougo were different, instead of making Hiroto be sympathetic in that they were similar in some ways...
I love, love the brothers' bond and how Shuuto brought such a change into their lives... I'm still having a hard time reconciling the person their sister was in her youth and who she grew up into, since I personally can't put myself in her shoes, but all I can say is that she was really blessed with wonderful family. It's a little too convenient and selfish for her to disappear from her family's lives and disregarded them as we can see from her conversation with Shougo ("I never had family" or something) (hence why I'm very conflicted with her character) only when things went south for her... I wish we saw a little more about her backstory ngl.
But that aside, I really enjoyed this drama and was teary-eyed in the happy moments, knowing that the peace and happiness with the brothers and Lion was only a fleeting experience...
It's so bittersweet that they had to part ways at the end, but it shows that family would keep on thinking about each other, and always find a place to belong and go back to in each other even after so long... I guess that's what Aoi's role in the story is supposed to symbolize too.
I've seen cringiest of the cringe bl but still I canβt pass through this one π₯Ί It's hella cute and cringe…
"hella cute and cringe at the same time" you just summed it up perfectly πππ the way I squealed at half of these episodes I wasn't sure if it was out of *kilig* or cringeee (I love it)
It's official, this drama made me bawl at the 6th episode.... man... why did I not see that coming at all πππ
who would've thought I'd cry harder at episode 10! honestly 100/10 drama. absolute cinema. I'm so at a loss for words I'm just awed by this drama. It had its cheesy moments but it's okay we need it sometimes
I can see how people get bored with the very long monologues. but the main way she gets her students to change…
Yes, I don't know why it's putting people off when I think it's supposed to be the point of the drama. I genuinely love the writing and amount of thought put in the dialogue here. Sometimes there are lines that I want to write on my wall, that's how good they are. I get how that isn't everyone's cup of tea but that doesn't make this drama bad. If you're saying it's boring then maybe it's an attention span issue... Lol.
I'm so pissed at the end of episode 8, more like I'm just really sad for lee Dae-cheol. I just wanted to see him get justice but none of that gets served. He really got fucked over the system bad and no redemption. Lost my appetite for this series, I couldn't even get through watching the end of the trial. Too bad. I really liked the detective duo but I don't think it's enough pay-off for everything invested in the past 8 episodes.
the entire story was lovely!! I have to say that some events, such as how the villagers managed to sell their tea leaves again (probably?) got resolved (it just kinda got brushed off to the side), and the students' reunion with tian, happening off-screen was a bit unsatisfying; but despite that, and a few other things that make me scratch my head *cough last episode drama*, I still enjoyed this drama a lot. that first and last kiss in the last episode was worth the wait lol. and phupha finally being honest to his feelings was such good character development. also just wanna say im so in love with the way our two main leads stare at each other, those moments are just full of love and their eyes just say so many things that they don't allow themselves to say in that moment. makes me squeal internally everytime. I just watched the series in a few days because there's still others I want to watch, but because of the slow developments in the story, (its not exactly bad) I'd probably want to rewatch this again sometime with a slower pace.

it's a subplot. There is a confession, but there's no relationship that happens. Also it doesn't involve the teacher or any adult.
