I'm already prejudiced entering this conversation because I DO NOT LIKE ROMANCE AT ALL... but some of my good friends do, and they complain of the predictability of the drama. Once you start a drama, you know for sure whom the female protagonist would end up with, eg The Heirs. Nothing is anticipatory, nothing is exciting... the storylines are almost the same with just some few tweaks here and there... for once I'll love to see something out of their comfort zones and YES with protagonists that are actually compatible not forced together

I can see why this series had so many good reviews while watching this, I felt no urge to fast forward an episode. The pacing was good, the characters totally relatable and the friendship epic.
The storyline was really fresh and the actor played their part so well. This is a good series, guaranteed not to bore you at all.

I’ll just say this ... take it how you like. Once Yoo Jung left, everyone’s life became better.. just saying. Some people unknowingly bring about bad vibe and negative energy everywhere they stay. He was right in leaving Seol, she would have changed into some she won’t be able to recognize later in life and that would have brought resentment.

COMMUNICATION!!!
while watching this I realised for this show to work out as well as it did, the writers had to remove a fundamental human behaviour which is COMMUNICATION. I mean I get it, the show can stand on its feet but if this aspect wasn't totally ignored, the show wouldn't be as good.
Now to character assessment:
1) Yoo Jin Kang --- girl bye!!! I mean, I sincerely do not like girls with the same trait as this lady here. At least Seung Ah was straight with what she wanted., the girl didn't play games. The writers sneakily try to sell to us the whole wholesome image and honest BS but we (I) saw through it. She knows people tend to believe her that is why she deceives them easily and lies to get her way... She tells Seung Ah to stay away from Kim Moo Yong but doesn't herself. Constantly lies to her bosses about helping them connect with Kim or Wong. Deceives her brother constantly but is with the quickness to lay blame on others and play le victim ( pardon my french).
2) Kim Moo Yong--- He enjoyed control, enjoyed inflicted emotional and physical pain but mostly loved to play mind games. I loved his character so when he started being all lovey-dovey with Yoo, I was confused cause I said to myself someone like that doesn't deserve the happiness he's trying to carve out for himself. I waited, watching, hoping against all odds that the writers don't disappoint me and they came through. The first pain he felt wasn't enough for me so I waited then the major pain when he misunderstood and started acting out gave me all kinds of joy I couldn't imagine.
3) Yoo Gin Gook --- all I can say here is this was where communication failed us. The writers played lots of games with this character. They really mad him pitiable and weak AF. They used him to let many plot holes slide and we forgave them because all in all, he played his part in the whole fiasco.
4) Tak--- I LOVE YOU. If friends where like you, people would need just one and be better in life for it.

Soooooo, am I the only one that noticed the blatant nerve of the director to pass Stockholm Syndrome as love???... anyone?? ok so just me then. That will be my major quarrel with this series plus it was unnecessarily long

At the risk of upsetting so many fans, and I apologize before hand, I am going to say that this drama was not…
Exactly what I was thinking. I did not understand what she wanted to achieve by keeping her gender a secret while furiously flirting with the ML. I mean, she saw what it did to him. It almost broke him and she kept on with the whole charade. If I was the writer there wouldn't be anymore relationship just friendship because he fell in-love with A GUY, he struggled and accepted the fact that he was bisexual. Anyway, either way I still love it though they did drag the ending.

I loved this, watched it almost without realising it was the whole thing. It was so fun. Yes, you might not like…
" Kim Min Kyu is soooooooooo handsome and cute that I was fangirling the whole time. I realise that you're supposed to pine for the older brother in this, I guess, but I was looking at Kim Min Kyu and drooling in every episode lol He's so cute and I'm so glad he's not really 18 xD"
This is exactly what I felt. He was so adorable, i died with every smirk and smug look he gave out.

Get yourself out of your head... WARNING!!!! THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL BL
That being said, the greatest tragedy here is that Se Joon (SJ) ever got to lay eyes on Yoon Jae (YJ).
IMO ... the real villain here is YJ, he is subtly manipulative, for those that don't understand the ending let me explain...
SPOILER
What I understood from the prison scene was that YJ suspected that SJ liked him a little bit more than friends. c'mon people we are not kids, this is the 21st century.. but due to his past, he has mastered the act to play "victim". SJ always wore his hearts on his sleeves but from the point of their interaction, YJ has NEVER been truthful to SJ...why?? why is that?? If he claims to be ignorant of SJ feelings for him, why hide the fact that he's seeing that girl.. my point is that he knew and exploited it until it became a burden.
let's not forget that he transferred to SJ's school and at the end we see him transfer again.. we don't know what scandal he left behind in his previous school. So because he's the protagonist, it doesn't mean that he's good. Let's not forget he delivered those girls to be raped in that hotel. even when SJ told him to avoid those guys a little bit. He deliberately drugged one of the girls but instead of to take responsibility like a half-assed Man he is, he decides him and SJ should take the fall. B**** !!!... The MF was really testing my patience there and then, all I could feel was sorry for SJ was crushing on a douche like Yoon Jae... So hence the fallout.

Anyway, I loved how this played out, it was tragic but beautiful. it depicts the routine struggles of growing. No matter how teens act, it shows that deep down they're still children. None of them could handle their emotions, that's what I got from this.
1. The bullies really wanted to hurt SJ but hurt YJ instead cause they felt that they could handle
him
2. SJ really wanted to hurt YJ so he took his frustrations out on the girl.
Is it fair? is it excused? NO, but is it understood? MAYBE...

Boy, this sure was relevant for the times given the Burning Sun situation. Its scary to see this being done so…
You stole the words right out of my mouth... When watching this, my biggest regret was i couldn't enter the TV and help Se Joon. In my opinion, Yoon Jae is the villain. He is a master manipulator and borderline sociopath.
