Me too from episode 25 onwards the story will get even more darker so the possibility of having a sad endinh is high but I agree with you as long as there is no female love interest I will take any kind of ending. In epiosde 20 they both were asked if they like any girl and as I don't understand the language I couldn't understand the reply I am waiting for the subs.

I liked WB ending...better open ending rather than one dying....at least this way I can imagine that they met later on and now are living happily together

This one will probably have Winter Begonia type of ending...but if you are hesitant then wait two more weeks but tbh this series is worth the watch even if the ending turns out to be depressing... what I can tell you is that there is no girl drama at least
