If you read the earlier interviews from the directors and even Machida they haven't thought of season 2 at all and even Machida said "the way season 1 will end there is no need for season 2" not exact words but you get an idea...But this was before they saw how big CM has become internationally. And it doesn't matter in Japan that if the manga is ongoing if they don't want to make s2 they will not make season 2 even if there is a lot of source material. Japan works very differently.
So creating this kind of requesting form may make them at least think of making a sequel!
