The only reason I rated this drama 5 Is because of the 2nd couple. I hated the main couple and honestly how the parents reacted was accurate. I still don't understand why this was 2018's one of the biggest loved series by people. Honestly, if the main leads were the other way around as in a 15-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man I am sure that people who are so in love with this series now would have sung a different song. And I really don't understand why Kawai and Haraguchi supported Hijiri. I really hope for a 2nd season with Kawai and Haraguchi as the main lead with no Hijri and Kuroiwa.

The ost of this series is beautiful hands down.

Episode 11 started in a slightly heavy tone but another important lesson for Adachi. Tsuge already lost his power after having the power only for maybe 1 month and a few days (his timeline is unclear to me) but we see he is also struggling to understand Minato now that he has lost his power. This shows that even though Tsuge didn’t have the power as long as Adachi even he became reliant on the power. That it’s easy to just read someone’s mind and go along with it to avoid “any kind of complications and unnecessary efforts and have happily ever after ending.”

And after hearing Tsuge complain about it Adachi’s first take was to “cherish the power” when in reality Tsuge wanted to make Adachi aware, to warn him not to rely on his power because that power will not last a lifetime and it will be gone after it ran its course. And we see how scared Adachi looked. Because he unintentionally became too much dependent on his power too much to the point that in episode 10 when Kurosawa was planning the Christmas firework surprise for Adachi in his head Adachi without any caution asked Kurosawa “so there will be firework Christmas” only to realize his mistakes when Kurosawa pointed it out to Adachi and also in episode 11 during candlelight dinner. This showed us that to Adachi the line between knowing things by reading mind and by people actually speaking them out loud is becoming blurry to him. Even though he was the one who told Kurosawa in episode 10 about two-way communication Adachi, himself, unintentionally wasn’t really adhering to his own advice. I think episode 10 was not only an eye-opener for Adachi himself but for us too! Because I read some of the comments saying “I didn’t think Adachi relied this much on his power” I mean he had the power for 3months now. We human gets accustomed to easy thing fairly quickly.

But the thing about Adachi is that whenever he realizes that he is using his power too much he tries to avoid contact and tries not to use it but the situation really doesn’t help him. I understand Adachi’s dependency on his power because let’s be real if we all had the power we would also use it and how long can a person avoid contact from family, friends, lover, and colleagues. It’s not possible man. But props to Adachi, he never used his power any wrongdoings I mean we all saw how guilty he felt for reading the mind of that Director women and he tried to distance himself but there was no space for that and he ended up using the information he learned on the elevator (thank god he didn’t win because I can already see and understand how much more guilt and remorse he would have felt).

In my opinion, the main theme of this episode was how much Adachi actually relies on his power and how he thinks that if he loses his power all the difficult things he overcame will become difficult again. His fear that he will become like his old unconfident and coward self, made him choose his powers over Kurosawa.

But we all know this kind of power will only make you feel confident and help you overcome things for a short period. Things gain from the effort and hard work will always last, after all, the short-run thing only runs for a little while. I mean look at Adachi he became confident and opened himself to Kurosawa and others still he is not happy and that’s because he feels he cheated and that he didn’t earn anything in a fair human way.

And Kurosawa, this dude literally has no selfish bone. He only thinks about Adachi’s happiness. I also saw some people questioning or not understanding Kurosawa when he asked Adachi that if he wants to break up. To me it made sense though, I mean Adachi literally was having a breakdown and was crying a mess and Kurosawa literally said that seeing Adachi smile is the most important to him. Listen if this was real life any person standing on Kurosawa’s position would be very angry and a mess too but Kurosawa was really understanding, which is honestly not realistic imo.

And I am proud of Adachi that he told Kurosawa about his power and came clean to him about everything. At least from now on their relationship will truly build upon trust, effort, silly misunderstanding, surprises, and two-way communications.

I honestly think this one should have been 13 episodes long rather than 12 because I want to see a little more development before the eventual HE.

P.S I just woke up, have yet to have my first intake of caffeine so I am a little disoriented but I wanted to express my thoughts all unfiltered and raw. I will edit the mistakes or add more things later.

This episode really transcended the whole series. On one hand you have the power of magic, on the other there…
Seeing how much A is hurting and crying kurosawa being Kurosawa he doesn't have a single selfish bone on his body decided to breakup cuz thats what he thought will make A suffer less but we all know that is not the actual case. These two dumb boys man!
