For clarity, I am not his fan, nor am I “in love” with him, I am old enough to be his mother. However, I stand by what I said. Your interpretation of racism differs from mine. Racism involves believing one race is superior and acting on that through unfair treatment or exclusion. Simply saying a picture looks like someone from Southeast Asia, without any derogatory intent, does not automatically meet that definition.
Interpreting neutral statements as offensive to fit a narrative only fuels unnecessary hostility, sowing seeds of discord. Also, labeling me as someone who “worships” him simply because I disagree with you is stereotyping, and that, in itself, undermines your argument.

I started out with Cdramas, then watch some that was very good but with bad endings, moved on to kdrama for a long time. Before finding my way back. Now I simply do mix of both. If it's interesting I complete it, if not, I just drop it. Captivating isn't common, far and in between, now that is what PoJ is.

Depends on your perspective and interpretation. Communication is 2 ways (sender and receiver), the way it's received by you may be different from how someone else received it.

Because alot of people are just waiting till it airs.

I did the first 5 episodes on iqiyi, then continued on Netflix. But with this new perspective, maybe I'll go back to iqiyi.

It's the opposite for me, love the actress, not really a fan of Ling He, but would watch his dramas, only able to complete 'Best Thing'. But from comments since PoJ, I have gone back to some uncompleted ones to buy time while awaiting the next episodes. Realized he isn't a bad actor, currently watching "story of kunning palace", so far, I am impressed. Dropped it cause of the FL, but she seemed to have done well here too.

I particularly love episode 18, where the FL killed the head of the bandits, the way she jumped in the fire, to jump on the horse from behind, the director did a very good job. I literally jumped up and screamed.

I like this definition. Cause I can't even discipline myself where it's concerned. My new plan was to hold on till Friday so I can watch 5 episodes together (since they decided to release an episode per day), but I am unable to.

Because they like chaos. Forgetting, one man's food is another man's poison. JoL and PoJ are not even the same storyline. It's funny how people just like to add a bit of clause when something or someone is being celebrated. They will create something to detract from or dampen that joy.

You can say that again. I have watched interesting dramas, but something that connected from the get go, the last time I felt that was QoT. I can't even pinpoint what it is, I just know I love it. I was only going to watch an episode to know what it's about, cause of the female lead, to catch up when it's completed. But here I am eagerly waiting for the next episode.

😃 you can say that again, I'm literally thinking of the next episode. The good thing is that, it's everyday. Imagine, if it's just weekends. The anxiety would be too much. I try to avoid ongoing dramas. I wanted to watch the first episode cause I saw TXW, so I will add it to my watch list. But here I am, eagerly awaiting the next episode. The stress of awaiting a new episode can be too much for me, which is why I try to wait. But I definitely can't wait for this. The last time I felt this way was Queen of Tears (Kdrama), which was the last running drama I watched.

Watching episode 18, and my first thought when I saw Fan Changyu on the horse was, this lady would fit the role of Mulan. Her nuances, body language, and fluidity is top notch. I was at work today, thinking of watching the 2 episodes today. As much as I would like to hold on till it's completed, I don't think I can discipline myself like that. I rarely find something that captivates me like this. They all did a good job, even the gossip grandma redeemed herself. Wouldn't have imagined Tian Xi Wei as this kinda heroine, and she's killing it.

Probably because it's not something they are used to. They wanted to believe they are all pure. Which is why they would explain some things away. We are able to see it as the audience, the things we see they did not. Gu Jin trusting Hua Shu for all those years, I felt like waking him up to see who she truly is. Or the Fox uncle not knowing the love of his life was an Imposter.

Overall it did not disappoint, but the guy going into their hotel room, following them all around got annoying at a point. I understand it might happen in reality, but the hotel would pay for it. He would have been sitting in jail in reality. But guess they were trying to add a bit of comedy. On a lighter note, if life itself isn't perfect, why do I have to expect perfection from something a human being wrote?. I would confidently say it wasn't a waste of time. Nice acting by all.

You are right, we are all entitled to our opinion, but in my view, for her to come out in the open to say this, I'm sure she's been pushed to the wall. Knowing their society and how mental health is viewed, choosing to do this, I'm scared for her. I pray she doesn't break. We only see the glamor, not what goes on underneath.

Got to know Ding Yuxi from this drama, and I've been on a Ding Yuxi spree since then. He never disappoints.

My favorite Actress of all time. I simply love her natural smile, she also looks like someone that is down to earth. Beautiful......
