Wow I've never watched a kdrama final like this before that is full of fluff from start to finish. Sure they could squuaze in more drama and try to make it more exciting but I feel like this was the best possible conclusion with the direction they were taking. I am so glad.
Now, the atypical family is next. I am morbidly worried about that one though 😶‍🌫️

Fiction is not immune to criticism, and that’s what makes English literature interesting
What does that have to do with anything lmao.
Also that's not how critisizm works. You can't critizise (it is not critisizm but complaining at that point) a character's moral value from the get go if that's how the character is supposed be, if it makes sense in the story /or the worldview/ itself, otherwise it is just unfair to the writer. Will you stop reading Crime and Punishment because the main character killed someone? Because it is a criminal behaviour and morally wrong? When the whole point of the story exploring the objective of morality?
'Critisizing' a character's morality, with only 2 episodes at hand too, is just dumb to me. But you do you.

Why the rating is so low... If it's about all the discussions below, I get people can have preferences but damn this is fiction, it ain't that deep. Probably there will be a repentance arc, and depending on the execution it can be satisfactory- or not. If there will be no repentance arc- according to the theme and the flow of the drama there might be even no need of it. Because sometimes dark fiction is just dark. Not all main characters have to be model citizens, most of time, the worldview of a fiction has its own moral construct that can't be judged with the real world lenses because it will take away from the fact that- well- it is fiction, and will spoil the fun.
And since we can't know the direction they will take with only 2 episodes, these low ratings are not justified at all, and are the mere by-products of prejudice and tunnel vision, in my humble opinion.

How this drama got an 8.3 while some mediocre drama are 8.5 and above... It is hands down my favorite historical k-drama. People who are doubtful about this because of the ratings: just watch it! You won't be disappointed.

I think this drama is for the isekai girlies only. I will watch anything in this subgenre, and won't care if it is genuinely bad. We just need more adaptation from good webtoons *sigh.

If it isn't the assistant, who else is left to be the murderer? This is quite a mystery.
That's a good explanation for his behaviour. Now I feel like I am actually just disappointed at the fact that he couldn't keep the act. Like boy you were so good at it before what happened lmao.

As for the possible candidate... Tbh I have no idea. Some people are suspicious of Geon Hu. But what did he do besides being a total cutie-pie ahaha.

Thank you for your response too <3

Yeah I get you, he was indeed acting strange before the last two eps too. Still I wish he didn't blatantly act like an asshole in the last ep. It didn't feel convincing to me.

Some people are saying they've knew it was the assistant since from the first episode like he wasn't always so sweet. There wasn't any signs whatsoever. I get that it's a cliche, so it is expected but the writers did so wrong by ruining his entire personality in a span of 1-2 episodes, how do they expect us to be surprised when the murderer is revealed to be him. He should have kept his fake kind personality (like how he did in the first 10 episodes, shouldn't be too hard) until the big revelation which he shows his true colors in an instant. That's how a plot twist is done.
The detective saying "I remember him somewhere" hints at the fact that he is the brother, and with this fact the bigger picture is forming. Everything seems so predictable, there are still 5 episodes left too. The mystery element in the show is totally ruined if that's how things will shape.
I still hope that this isn't the direction they are actually taking, but a simple misguide. And behind all this, there is a cleverer plot.
