Title Sunshine of My Life Spoiler
Its not a break up, but a fight and Mo Fei eventually calms down. Anyway, the fight lasts an episode.
For me, it isn't a misunderstanding at all. MF totally understood that MX didn't include her in his life by hiding that story and hiding all of what he's doing right now for the girl.
Of course, since it's an asian drama, MF blamed herself because she isn't worthy enough of MX having the courtesy of actually treating her as an equal, a partner and with respect, instead of realizing the guy says no to other women but lets them drag him around all over the place cuz it elevates his already inflated ego...

But MF didn't misunderstand anything, that was the only good thing that came out of the whole chauvinistic scenario. Another fl would've thought that he was cheating.

he was not engaged because he wanted to, he was forced to. i don't think he should be the blame, but Qian. She…
He's an hyppocrite and she has dignity issues. One shouldn't blame oneselves for the mistakes others make saying that, since we're not good enough, the other party acts like that, specially not women.

If you love someone, sure, you work hard but in the relationship. If you work hard in other aspects like profession, health, friendships, culture and so on, those are for yourself, not for the guy who's trying to bang you. Sorry if I sound rude, I'm not upset with you, I'm utterly disappointed with these dramas where, in the last quarter, everything goes downhill for the fl and she has to endure it because it will make her deserving of his love.

Her relationship with the stalker is completly different so she can't be considered a hyppocrite.
1) The stalker is completly aware that MF has a bf, and he has a long relationship with him.
2) MX is completly aware of everything.
3) MF has rejected the stalker several times.
4) MF doesn't hide the whole thing from MX and makes him a fool in front of their whole social circle.

MX on the other hand, keeps his "ex fiancee" hiding in plane sight. Lies and leaves MF several times for that woman. Gives that woman the status he should've given MF in front of their social circle. Hides the fact that he's dating MF from said woman and all of this while being completly aware that said woman has been in love with him forever.

The issue isn't having a bee buzzing around, the issue is giving your partner the respect he/she deserves and the attitude you mantain with said bee. There are huge differences if we consider those 2 things and compare MX and MF.

That's definitely the dumbest thing he has done so far. The smart thing to do would have been to explain the whole…
That wasn't a mistake for being dumb. That was a chauvinistic way of acting in that culture. He's a man, he's rich, he's handsome and capable so he can keep a harem at his disposal and he doesn't have to discuss those things with the members of the harem.

100 years ago, that girl would've been the legal wife and MF a beloved concubine who isn't entitled to any sort of respect and consideration.

yeah i agree actually, the part that made me most annoyed was when he was coming over to apologize at first and…
Then he acts like nothing happened at the office, after ignoring her just to make her want him. Tells everyone that she won't go to the dinner/party of the office (BOSS ABUSING HIS POWER - SEX CRIME ALERT) and finally tells her that he was wrong to love her in his own way (ABUSIVE GUY APOLOGY AFTER BEATING THE CR*P OUT OF YOU)...

The actor is such a good catch in every character he plays that he's entitled to keep a woman who's interested…
A gf/bf isn't someone you kiss/sleep/go to eat and shopping, no. A gf/bf is someone who not only you love (therefore enjoy skinship and spending time with her/him) but also whom you share your life with and deserves your respect and consideration. The ml treats the other woman as his gf and the actual fl is the hidden lover. What a disgrace... And people here don't see how wrong is to do that.

You don't have to sleep with someone else to disrespect and humilliate your partner, this scenario is another way. In my ideal drama, she kicks him to the curve and goes on to live her life to the fullest, even dates some other people, men who aren't so rich and entitled and toxic...

I saw the "forgiveness" scene subtitled, it's the same speech abusers say all the time: I was wrong to love you in my own way disregarding your feelings". That's something the guy tells you after he knocks out one of your teeth from a slap "my only mistake is that I love you in my own way"... That RED FLAG should been seen 10000 miles away..,.

So it's really wrong for the FL to do it and she has to listen to her bf and allow him to control almost everything in her life. However, the male lead IS ALLOWED to lie/stood up/hide the fact that he's seeing his ex "fianceé" on a daily basis, a woman who's soooo in love with him that ran away to another country due to his rejection, a woman all of his family and friends are trying to make his wife...

Don't you see the issue there? Since he's a man, he's allowed to keep the harem but she can't be friends with someone who likes her... What the...?

I absolutely hate how easily she forgives. In one scene she says how she's been trying so hard to fit in and looks…
The actor is such a good catch in every character he plays that he's entitled to keep a woman who's interested by his side acting like she's the wife even though he has a gf. Oh, and let's not forget that he's also entitled to keep said gf in the dark until she's utterly humilliated in front of everyone who knew but also kept it a secret (SICK).

The worst part isn't the asian chauvinistic trope in the dramas, no, the worst part is the thousand (to say the least) of women out there defending the character's behaviour cuz "he's being forced, he loves her, he hasn't had sex with the other woman yet".

I so agree with you, that was disgusting. Only a woman with no dignity would tolerate that behaviour in the name of love. It isn't about pride, it's about dignity.

1) He hided the fact that his family arranged a marriage with his childhood friend before.
2) He hided the fact that the woman came back and is sick.
3) He hided the fact that the woman and everyone is expecting him to act like a caring boyfriend.
4) He acts like a caring bf to the woman.
5) He stood up his actual gf several times and even lied to her for that woman.
6) He allowed his gf to find out everything in public, putting her in such an awful place in front of his social circle... The humilliation...
7) He neglected his gf current state, life problems and situation because he was busy endulging the other woman.
8) He keeps such toxic behaviour with the other woman which in real life would cause psicologycal damage to a very vulnerable patient (I'm not saying the woman is innocent but you don't endulge a dying patient like that just to go back to your gf's bed at night, that's also an awful thing to do to the other woman as well).

Like you said, he's a manipulative guy who gaslights not only his gf but even the other woman as well.

I understand that in asian cultures, having multiple concubines is still a thing (Thailand, fe) or ended up less than 100 years ago (China) but it's 2021, it's a high budget production, they shouldn't keep using the "the girl can't even eat at a restaurant with another guy but the man can keep his side chick inside his house/family during the whole drama". It's disgusting.

I really hope that my children won't ever buy that sh*t.

Context is very important. She is not his exfiancee. She is the little sister to second male lead. She, Tang Mingxuan,…
It's still such a cauvinistic maneuver. He doesn't like her but gives her better treatment, consideration and respect than what he gives to his actual gf.

How I'd wish for male leads characters in asian dramas to stop being portrayed as noble men who run a harem in 2021 but they still love their gf. It's soooo disgusting.
Sure, he isn't having sex with the woman but he's treating her like her partner and is hiding the whole thing from his gf. Whom, as usual in asian dramas, can be a little upset but isn't allowed (by the writer) to send the man to hell because women, specially her type, isn't deserving of such a god so she has to endure whatever sh*t he pulls on her.

Let's face, if that's how he treats her while dating, if that's the way he allows his entire family and social circle to treat her, what can we expect after marriage? It doesn't make sense that they can have a happy ending.

Sure, writers can use the old trope of the ex approved by the family coming back and trying to win him with pity, but can you at least be more ceative and stop humilliating the FL? Is it so hard for the male lead to explain it to her and ask her to be a little bit patient while he's visiting the crazy one, instead of making a fool out of her?

When the male lead is jelous in an asian drama, it's considered "cute" the pitty, cruel, disrespectful way he acts towards the FL. But, when a woman is completly entitled to be not only jelous but hurt and humilliated, she has to suck it up and be understanding that the guy is too good and has to keep all the women around him happy.

Title Brilliant Girls Spoiler
Am I the only one that feels XiXi is equally compatible with the rich CEO who courted her but was rejected by…
Me too.
She's my favorite character of them all. She's honest, kind and fights for what she wants (even if it isn't the same as others).
DuanXu was such a coward and a jerk using that move on her. He could've asked her for some time apart to solve his parents issues. He didn't need to humilliate her like that, specially knowing how much her ex hurt her.
The woman you love, who wants nothing more in life than to marry the person she loves, was treated like garbage by her fiancee, making her feel like she's not worthy of marriage, and you do the same? Even if it's a lie, he did it to her...
Imagine the courage and kindness it takes to accept the child and he still said awful things to her. He doesn't deserve her, period. Tood bad she won't fall in love with the other guy cuz it's a drama. In real life, she probably would.
For me, loving someone also means respecting that someone. One that person doesn't respect you anymore, the love is gone. He has been belittling her views on life since day one. She's prettier, kinder, richer than him and never thought of herself as a the higher person, but he did just because her dream is to get married with someone she loves early.
During the wedding scene I was shocked. I didn't realize he actually never said he loved her until she said it. I'm pretty sure that if she felt her loved one truly loved her back and never leave her side, she wouldn't be so pushy with the marriage thing. But, neither her ex and DX gave that sense of security to her.
On the other hand, the CEO accepts who she is and tells her it's actually a good thing to be herself. He's there for her and reassures her every step of the way. Even if it's because he likes her, but that's a much more real and healthy relationship that bullying, mocking, belittling , hiding, lying and running, which is basically what both her past relationships were about.

My issue is different. I get that she doesn't fully trust MZ, since that guy is a bit too casual and doesn't show his hand at first (when they came back to China). Also, she distrusts him regarding personal issues, if it's about the company, she listens to him. That's because she's very timid due to the assh**** LX and the devil in heels SM...

With CL, I could see her trusting him a bit more, he was her tutor back in high school and he has taken care of her dad all this time. What I don't get, is why she can't see that she could've died on the streets, get raped, mugged or whatever in Britain and CL didn't move a finger to help her. If I was in her shoes I'd be like:

SM, take your minion (LX) and get the heck out of my life.
MZ, I won't believe a single word you've said. I saw you sad because of your ex for 4 years and now, out of nowhere, you love me? You better star proving it and have patience, cuz I won't buy that story in just 3 weeks.
CL, you're a good colleague, sure, a nice right hand for my dad, then why didn't you care about how I survived for 4 years in another continent? You love me? No no no, you may like me but there's no way in hell you'd love me.
Dad, give me the inheritance from my mom and go live with yiour wife and the child you actually love without ever calling me again. You kicked me out of the house without even listening, you neglected me for 4 years, I get hurt for saving my brother and you don't even take a glance at me in the hospital bed. Now, you tell me you know how wicked your wife is? Then you both deserve each other, you're equally disgusting. She did those things, sure, but not only did you knew it and didn't protect me, instead, you chose to blame as well. go to hell, daddy.

Lol, that's me. I do believe in filial pity but that's something you earn but actually being a parent to your child. That man deserves to be poisoned by his wife (and much more).

Not so much resistance actually. He allows her to come late at night to his house, he allows her to hug him whenever she likes, he even drove her back to the city. In real life, you don't do that with your ex, who's pursuing you, specially if you're engaged to another girl.

He knows that RR weakness if feeling inferior to SM and he isn't doing anything about it. That, for me, it's game over. I mean, if my fiancee is willing to let his ex and all their circle to lie to my face with my one most sensitive issue, then he's not reliable at all. In the future, if he becomes my husband, he may do worse things. But in Cdramas, being reliable is having money to buy a house... The cultural differences are too great.

I assumed that since she was working for him and he told her he wasn't interested in her as a woman, she turned off that switch. She liked him but didn't want to repeat the LX story so she just "friendzoned him". We actually didn't see anything else from their relationship in Britain after that point so I guess she just treats him like an acquaintance when she goes back to China.

On the other hand, in Cdramas we almost never find a boy-girl friendship without love interest from any side. if we do, they boy is probably a bit too feminine suggesting he's gay. I guess it's a cultural thing, my best friends outside my family are guys, both with spouses, I was even the "godmother" in one of their weddings. I've known them for like 20 and 15 years and no romantic feelings at all, this is something you don't see in most Cdramas, so MZ became an acquaintance and that's it.

The worst thing is that both couples will go to get married together happily (according to the intro)... If I ever find a Su Mo in my life, I'll kick her to the curve as soon as she's no useful, in real life, that type of woman will get in bed with your husband, no doubt.

My biggest issue isn't with Chen Luo but with Ming Zhe, he's lying to her with her most sensitive issue. Since it's an asian drama, Ran Ran will forgive him in 2 ep, which makes no sense. She has huuuuge confidence issues related to Su Mo and Ming Zhe deceit will destroy her, it's something that you don't fix in 2 episodes... I, no matter what he says or how much I love him, would never be able to trust him again. I mean, they're not together and he has been seeing Su Mo in private, allowing her to touch him, hug him and so on. Who says that they won't do anything more further along the way?

This won't be lighter than YCM hahahahaha. I recall some details about the trailer and I think they'll be a miscarriage and divorce. YCM has a younger cast and the revenge plot will be solved in 5 ep at top, probably a misunderstanding and the female lead will forget how she was deceived and used in just a scene (never get why they do that), like in every other drama with the same plot.

I strongly agree with you, it makes no sense that they always portray a 25 years old as a genius succesful CEO. This one has a more realistic view of things.

I'll wait for this to be at least 3/4 aired to watch it, I really like Hawick Lu :)

Nicely? If he really cared and had an useful method to help the company, why didn't he show up at the beginning giving all of those advices? He just went there to rub it her face, the I was right, look at you now, perhaps if you beg I could reconsider... Him going there was even lower than what WZR did at the restaurant.
Even if he doesn't love her anymore, he should have basic respect and consideration for the woman whom he shared so many years and wanted to marry. You want to go there? Well, do it to support her in such a difficult time. But then again, he never really supported LSY's life goals and career path.

Him sleeping with a "supposed" friend of hers? Him, instead of stepping forward at the beggining of Siyu's enterprise, just showing up with "advices" at the end when she when bankrupt? If you love someone, you support their life's goals, you definitely don't sabotage them at work for your own personal interest (don't give that "it's for her health cr*p, he did it because he wanted a sumissive housewife with a not so important job. If he was worried about her health, why don't take her to the nutrionist, to exercize, buy some vitamins...); you definitely won't take one of their friends as your rebound and possible spouse and you don't show up after all the damage it's done to say "I told you so, this is what you should've done to avoid failure"....
