I kind of agree with you. Again, I don't get why Beam would "bottom" out of nowhere!!! I still don't understand…
These BL novels are mostly written by straight women for straight women, only a few actually try to understand the dynamic between real homosexual couples, the rest of them just write them as if they are writing a heterosexual couple so they just switch the girl with the guy. That's why so many of these BL novels have cringy dialogues like "my wife" and "my husband". Let's not even talk about the whole bottom and top bullshit. It's already bad enough in Yaoi mangas.
Beam and Forth having sex was just too much for me (even if it was in the book). There was NO indicating of that…
I agree but I think in the series at least it was more or less realistic? Beam is not only drunk but also heartbroken and confused so he clings on to the next best person that shows him affection and he obviously regrets it. The series also tried to show us at the very beginning that the two are friends and know each other. Forth however is just badly written. We barely saw him move on from Wayo and now he is suddenly in love with Beam. I will wait and see how they develop the couple in the next few episodes but in my opinion Beam was kinda forced on Forth in the novel, probably because they were the only two single guys left in their group of friends and the author got lazy. Anyway I could always kinda understand Beam because shit happens when you are drunk but Forth suddenly being head over heels in love with him was just weird.
But they are not the only couple with inconsistency like we never actually get to know why Ming likes Kit? Or when exactly he started to like him? They are cute and I like them but the author didn't really spend a lot of time developing the other two couples and it shows. The novel overall isn't that good anyway. It's obviously written by a straight woman for straight women like most of these BL stories but I like the actors so I try to ignore certain dialogues and plot holes.
I get what they tried to do with the first few episodes but it was still a bit too rushed anyway I have to say that I like this cast way more than the last one especially Wayo and Pha are enjoyable to watch this time. I seriously couldn't stand the original actor of Pha. Forth is also a better choice, his actor is pretty good at portraying even the smallest emotions on screen and Beam feels like an actual person. The actors of Ming and Kit were the only ones I liked in the original series and the new actors are just as good as them so no complains here. The plot is also thankfully not being dragged on and on for no reason but kept short and simple. It's easy to follow but I have to say the whole story with that Park guy is still as annoying as in the novel.
I did not like this story or the actors, nothing, I don't like the sports environment. I was really bored, I don't…
It's called personal taste. This sequence of the History Series was very popular in Taiwan and Thailand and was the first one to manage to get more fundings for a sequel. It's a simple love story between two high school students, nothing special but many people prefer a simple and cute story.
I always loved the novel and I'm very satisfied with the drama adaption (even the ending was well done). They had to change some things but overall they captured the characters and the overall plot quite well. The casting is really outstanding and the costume and set designers also deserve praise.
I just re-watched the series again and I'm sill in love with it. It's such a well made series and the actors have so much chemistry. It's sadly a bit short because they lacked the funding to make it longer but thankfully there is a movie coming up this year.
