the story is really great, i wasn't into bl stories at all but it started with this story, last year i have watched few episode of the anime and then went to read the novel and it was amazing. the plot line is great and the characters are well written.
The novel story is not about the love of the main leads only and the way the characters r written is why it got such a high praise, it has family relationship issues, complex character personality and each character has a motive to why they did what they did. the high praise for the drama is because they stayed truthful to the source material as possible as they can with china ban for many things and the main lead because he did justice to the main character of the novel wei wuxian
I'd advice you to read the novel because it's really really nice. you won't regret it
it has same voice actor who played (wei wuxian) who did the voice acting for wei wuxian in untamed.
