it kind of seems targeted first the rumor about him being gay etc. and now this idk, he definetly needs help more…
The rumor of him being gay started years prior (around 2015), and I don't think it hinders his career. It started because he was caught visiting a gay bar. Many fans don't really mind him being one (if he is since he never really admitted it).

While some Korean especially religious ones from a certain religion still openly voice their disagreement with LGBTQ+, some idols already openly admitted their sexual orientation and the response wasn't bad.

I'm a fan of Yoo Ah In, and I hope he can make a comeback after getting all the helps he needs. But, it was undeniable that he is breaking the law in SK as a public figure. He knows the consequences of his actions and still chooses to do them.

Please let me give other perspectives about why drug usage in SK is very problematic, although drug users didn't directly cause harm to other people, to gain significant profit, drug dealers commit various crimes. There are police dying trying to catch the dealer. That's how dangerous their syndicate is. By buying and using drugs, you are indirectly supporting criminal activities. Also as a public figure, he has a lot of influence and got a lot of attention. If he wasn't being punished severely, it won't reflect well and make light of the case.

Also, drug usage in SK is actually soaring every year and not only among adults but teens. The data shows teens’ use of illicit drugs is also associated with the rising suicide rate (it was said 46.4 percent of minors’ suicide attempts resulting in hospitalization may have been associated with drug use or addiction). Another thing is, Korea wasn't prepared for effective rehabilitation, etc to handle such an increase in drug usage and the chances of Korean drug offenders returning to prison within three years of their release is an average of 40%.

Although it may take years, I do think it is possible for Yo Ah In to make its comeback, as he wasn't the first actor that has a drug scandal and makes a comeback.
