My introduction to Dramas is basically the same as yours. I've started with Anime as well since I was really little, I had everything Pokemon related lmao. I've started to follow kdrama and kpop around the same time, kpop in 2011, and dramas during my second year of high school in 2012/2013 circa. I've started because I've always founded USA tv series pretty much boring (except for ER, that's is my favorite!), and for me that I'm an Italian who really HATE Italian tv series Asia cinema was a blessing. Back in the days, I remember that I had this old iPad and I've downloaded the Viki app literally without understanding what the hell it was, ahaha. The app had like 50 shows in total, 'Boys over flowers' was yet a hit, but even today I've never watched it , so my first drama was 'birth of a beauty', even tho the plot was super confusing for me, I've slowly started to watch other shows, I've preferred the japan movies more than the kdramas if I have to be really sincere. I had entire months were I've didn't watch anything but in 2018 I've started to see dramas again and I could say that I've missed them so much. Since April 2019 I've collaborate , when I have the time to help with the translation into Italian on Viki, I'm still extremely picky over choosing shows lol, but I'm happy that even here in Italy this kind of cinema is slowly gaining popularity! Korean and Japanese language always had a calming effect on me, I could listen to these two languages for days without boring me, also I wish that Viki in the future would have more Japanese dramas, they are extremely underrated!!
Among all of the characters that you wrote about, Black was absolutely my favorite! The Drama was also super good, I loved the twist and the dark theme that each episode had. Probably the end was a little too fast-forwarded with many open options and answers, that absolutely need to be answered... But between, was a wonderful show, it's kinda sad that is super underrated!
