First of all I love your article ;) Doctor stanger is one of my favorite dramas to make it special is the epic love story between Park Hoon and Song Jae Hee (a character who remained in my heart and for whom I cheered from the beginning to the end of the drama) so i really never understood the SFLS which for me is a little forced on the contrary, i would have preferred that the authors better develop the story between Han Jae Joon and Oh Soo Hyun. As for Cunning single lady, unfortunately, having seen it several years ago, I can't remember much but the positive part is that your article made me want to REwatch it There are many misunderstood characters and sadly most of them are female ( wae?!)
I apologize in advance for my English and possible spoilers. Love your article and sorry for the long comment. Not in all the dramas, fortunately, but too often I have the feeling that the only thing that makes the FL special is the attention and unconditional love of the ML. In dramas often men and women are portrayed on two totally different levels. The girl is quite ordinary (nothing wrong with that) and has every conceivable flaw unlike the ML who seems to live on a completely different planet and from a purely superficial point of view it is perfect except that it is essentially an asshole. What we often like or remind us of the ML is the way he seems to become a better person thanks to her or the special treatment he reserves only for her. I personally tend to remember more about the character who gave me something on an emotional level or who comes out of the ordinary ( Crazy ;) ). Sometimes it also depends on the actor's acting. My favorite female characters in dramas are: - Princess Agents : Chu Qiao is one of the strongest female characters I've seen in a drama, she's smart and also know how to fight, she can literally kick your ass but she also knows how to do it using her brain. From the first episode until the end we see her struggle and fighting for herself and for the people around her. She's extremely loyal despite having her beliefs , she fight fire with fire keeping her humanity. - Story of Yanxi palace : Yingluo is one of my favorite female characters because she's strong, smart, loyal, she cannot be easily manipulated by others but she's the one who manipulates you and she's the queen when it comes to revenge( remaining extremely human). She starts from the bottom without power, wealth or education thanks to her skills and cunningness she manages to survive among the intrigues and dangers right to the top. She has a sharp tongue but also a good heart. - The Guardians : Jo Soo Ji has the strength that only a mother possesses. What make her so special and unforgettable is her story, she must face the worst tragedy for a parent in the worst possible way, and fight to discover the truth and to get justice easier said than done. There is a thin line between revenge and justice and it is often an internal struggle. she is one of the characters who managed to make me cry. - The good wife : Kim Hye Kyung she was a mother and a wife when her husband is arrested for corruption and it turn out he's not only a liar but also unfaithful she must start working again and find her identity as a woman. other female characters that for one reason or another I loved and deserve to be named are: I have a lover (Hae-Gang i loved her and at the same time frustrated me), Empress Ki, I will Never let you go (Bu Qi she's different from the other characters and quite refreshing).
