That said, I'm on episode 5 and if I try very hard to forget the old zhuge qing, this new guy is not too bad.. for now.

makes sense because here i was, thinking WXY must've offended someone that he had to accept this project. I feel like he deserve to be in something much better than this, honestly.

There's just soo much scheming in this drama, it's giving me a headache. All the characters are a bit mad, and make very questionable decisions/say some unacceptable things (despite the different times/culture bla bla). It's not bad, it's funny/easy watch if you don't think too much about the details but one that I wouldn't expect a very good actor like WXY to be in. Wonder who he offended that he had to pick this drama.

Let's just ignore the haters, TXW is doing a great job as Lin'an and she's got amazing chemistry with DW!

I agree about the multiple FL-material characters. At first I thought caiwei 's character was more suitable as FL, and that TXW could have done that character well too. As a fan who started this show because of TXW, I really hope they bring her out a bit more. I hope she gets more screen time and they prioritise her role from now on (>ep 21)..

1st episode:
30mins in - she's been looking for immortals and there's one right in her house??! LOL

I don't think there's romance, I mean, maybe like very very very side story. It's halfway through now and still nothing soo..

Guardian of the Dafeng is v good. In the beginning I wasn't sure where the story was headed (like what's the point of him 'going there' - all vague to avoid spoilers) but just bear with it, it's a huge puzzle and everything is interconnected and all very very interesting. By episode 20, you'll be wanting to binge it all but you can't because it's now one episode a day !

I still cannot deal with EY's baby voice lolol - all her dramas have very good ratings with good MLs too, and I keep trying and keep getting annoyed. I'm sure once there are no good dramas to watch, I'll eventually give in.

I think so too tbh, I have feeling like she might be behind the whole revenge plot. Or rather, I hope it's her.. It's too sad otherwise!

That is my favourite scene from this drama tbh. I'd gone and rewatched it many times today and I'm sure I'll keep coming back to this episode.

I'd only started watching this for TXW and obviously love DW's character now. I was very upset that TXW didn't appear until was it 6th/7th ep?? and then they gave her a silly character that appeared to be even less attractive/important than CaiWei's. After the whole embarrassing princess reveal, I thought it's gonna be one of those ML-focused drama where the FL loves him and only focuses on her romance whilst the ML is out there doing all sorts of important stuff and maaayyybeee also has a soft spot for FL, at the back of his mind, when he's got time. After episode 21, I have hope now for growth of the FL character and maybe, something more than just a love arc for the ML. TXW is a good actress, it'd be a shame to reduce her with a character that's just a love interest to DW.

Only at ep 19 now, glad the princess reveal finally happens. But it looks like ML already likes working with Huaiqing and only using Lin'an for his information gathering on Pingyang. It makes me feel a bit conflicted especially that they're making it almost like Lin'an is falling for him. Ah, one sided love stories are not funnnn.. I'd prefer there be nothing rather than FL embarrassing herself over and over because she likes ML but ML just focuses on his big game/cases.
