They left it like the book, no ending even though for the author, it is a completed book. Lol
My pleasure. I'm glad to discuss the stories and the books are really fantastic, also my favorites for a long time. I sent you friend request, hope your approval ~

Just noticed that I did not answer your doubts > < Yes the book series ended almost here. But I have too say many plots were changed compared to the original books.

Sorry but your friend is right. The above stories were novelettes, they are "Deal of a lifetime" and "The last Valkyrie". I dont know if there have EN versions. We book fans are expecting the following book series to fill in the blank space. D:

A complex story, in short words, Ji Ye and Azuler organized "Ye-Chen" army (take the names of Ji Ye and Gui Chen), joined by Yuran and other 4 characters. Seven of them were proclaimed to be the "association in the world of chaos".
They conquered all the countries in Eastland, but Ji Ye became a suspicious tyrant after all the wars and slaughters, which made other group members disappointed. He killed too much, and at last he aimed at his companions. Azuler decided to depart from Ji Ye and went back to grassland, but Ji Ye even wanted to conquer the grassland to broaden his dynasty. They gathered all their army to fight, in the end two sides were exhausted. Ji Ye and Azuler finally make a deal on the battlefield, to promise that they would put off weapons and never see each other in the lifetime.
Yuran could not bear the death of her friend Longxiang (sentenced by Ji Ye) and that's why she would assassinate him. Ji Ye taken the assassination as destiny, and before he died he forbidden any harm to Yuran, let her escaped from the palace.
The detailed story were attractive, and I would be pleased to discuss it further.

I've read through the book series. The completed six books are just the beginning of the eagle flag legend, followed with some novelettes. They revealed the fate of the main characters, e.g., in , Yuran assassinated Ji Ye after he become the emperor of Eastland (Donglu in Chinese). As to Azuler and Ji Ye, after they conquered Eastland and Grassland separately, they summoned all their forces and went to a fierce and effortless war.
As a book fan I was disappointed about the TV series. Princess Xiaozhou occurred everywhere, just to show how she fell in love with Azuler. But finally she has taken the throne and married with an idiot, which reminds me of the terrible ending from anime Aldnoah Zero season two.
However in the book chapter the princess was just a little kid with no more than 10 year old (also had nothing to do with Azuler), and the idiot (Baili Yu) should be a handsome and smart prince. They were assumed to be married at the epilogue of the book with unchangeable love. I dont know why the director would make so many change on the plots.
Ji Ye seems to be one of the few actors who seek for rational and normal performace in whole series.
