Many people in China are speculating that there's a reason that Karry Wang's acting is a little awkward in the first few eps if thats what your addressing. It may be because it's Zhuang Wenjie the uni student who's acting the whole entire time in front of the police and hiding his real motives. Guess we won't know until the end!

In my opinon I wouldn't say he's a villian. The ML is just very protective of those he cares about and will do anything to avenge for them.
