Yes, things were explained but many situations didn't make sense or were created for the sake of something else being possible, the plot was streched in weird directions to make it work and it was mediocre. Basically, I'm talking about plot convenience and how it is a sign of inexperience and mediocrity, if you read books or if you consume series/movies often you would know what that is, and if you don't then you can google it, there are many articles that explain it with examples. I found this one, short and it explains simply what it is and uses an example to illustrate the concept: https://tvwriter.com/bad-screenwriting-analysis-1-plot-convenience/

Yes, but cutting isn't an acceptable excuse, I don't think a good crew would use that as en excuse for their lacking. A story should be able to stand on its own, no matter how much you cut, you shouldn't need the parts that were cut for it to be good, the plot shouldn't be done for convenience, but that's what this is. Yes, many subplots were explained, but there were many parts of the plot that existed for the sake of other thing happening and nothing else, and that's mediocre imo.
I really wish that some people on here understood that a bad ending and a sad ending are not the same thing.Yes,…
I don't think this is a sad ending, it was expected of him to do that, from the very beginning it was clear that he would never put love over his duty. I actually prefer sad endings over happy endings when they're well done but that's not the case here, the script of this drama was already mediocre but it fell apart in the second half. I still enjoyed it a lot despite its obvious flaws because I was in the mood for a xianxia and I love the cast, but the ending is bad and there's no way to justify it. It being bad has nothing to do with it being sad, as you said, it makes sense, but the execution of the situations that led to this ending was poorly done, it was done out of convinience, the scriptwriter tried too hard to come out with a "moving plot for a memorable sad ending" and failed brilliantly.

Yoo, I just watched a bts they uploaded last week and Cheng Yi said that TZ practically lives in his dreams, this could be a confirmation that he will lose his memories and see his life through dreams. Not what I wanted but ok ig :(
I feel like everything he did is going to go leftShe is going to regain her memory their love is so deep ! It…
Maybe he was in love once and it didn't end well, but even if that was the case, I think it's a stupid law, almost impossible to follow (imo), and even if someone does meet their doom, let it be, it's their choice to love and they knew they could get their hearts broken.

Yess, she definitely will (I hope). I'd love to see the mortal arc revolve around them "falling" for each other knowing well who the other is, that would add more angst to the plot but we've barely had any happy moments so I don't mind.
I don't have enough reasons to think that the Heavenly emperor is evil but he's definitely hiding something, he said it himself, he knows something about YY, and I'm 99% sure that's about YY's father and his parents' relationship. I wonder if they will make him go through "that" arc like it happened in AOL (I won't mention it because I don't know if you've watched AOL).
I like that you can openly discuss this as I am up for some debate & contemplation.your opinion 1 is valid -my…
I- Yess! it shouldn't work at all, hopefully it didn't and they just want to add more angst.
II- I hope we get some answers soon, but I think it will take us more than this week's episodes to see how this arc will end, I guess we'll have to wait longer to get all the answers :|

I- Indeed, I think the hair strands are a strong love token, but what I'm saying is that it is not strong enough to put an end to her love. I don't think the hairpin has any memories in it, I just mentioned it because she still has it because he wanted her to be protected, and the hairpin is another love token that is still around.
II- Before she left to the mortal world, he turned her into a demon/evil spirit. The translation says he turned her into a "spirit", but he said "yao", 妖, which means demon/evil spirit. It makes sense if you remember the trailers where he's a demon hunter and she's a demon.
Yess, that's a big contradiction and plot hole, that's why I hope he gets to keep his memories, even though that also contradicts TZ's existence. The only way I can think of for them to avoid these plot holes is that he loses his memories but still learns about what's going on as TZ (even though he can't do anything about it because he doesn't have his YY memories to use the information), and once he dies and returns to the heavens, he will have TZ's memories and will be ableto use them to put the pieces together.

I- I think that she giving him half of her heart is the real token of love, it is HIS half heart now, they showed it a few times so it's definitely there, and since he sealed his memories of her in his core, which I assume is very close (or perhaps is) to his lotus heart, it makes the bond stronger on his side, and the fact that she couldn't let go of her memories strenghtens her side.
II- I reaaaallly hope he remembers, that would contradict the existance of TZ's personality, but I need him to. I don't know if this will be that fun because he turned her into a demon and I think TZ is a demon hunter and that combination doesn't look fun but hopefully it won't matter because he'll go back to the Heavens later and she'll probably find a way back too, oooor, she could go to the demons, and since he's half demon...
He investigate to mortal realm and he send to become TZ is two different things it seem. Prolly someone start…
Maybe they'll add more xianxia elements to the story and make humans cultivate to achieve immortality. If that happens here, it would make sense that he has powers
Ma’am…… we don’t watch Xianxia’s for the plot to make complete sense. Hello, it’s Xianxia, there are…
Yes, indeed, but I enjoyed it a lot despite its flaws, it’s one of my favorite cdramas. I got frustrated but like I said, I can enjoy a drama despite its plot holes, unless it crosses the line, which is why I rarely watch low budget dramas.
I think he messed up he didn’t follow directions correctly ! I bet she is not is not going to completely forget…
Yess, I also noticed that, I think it was a lotus seed from the pond in front of "their" cottage. I was wondering if that somehow would "taint" the water he used to make the flame thingy with their love, or idk, but it must be important because they showed us how it fell from his sleeve.

Ofc, but that's just how I am, I'm a logical person, I like things to make sense, even if it's a fantasy. That won't stop me from watching (unless nothing makes sense) because fantasy it's literally my favorite genre, but it won't be a pleasant experience. I've watched and read many fantasies that make sense, which is a hugeee bonus
