Title Ashes of Love Spoiler
Yes, for me he was the most interesting and complex character. But, I'll admit I have a soft spot for the tormented…
same! I wonder also if they will make Kuang lu be his wife, can't reasllysee them get together and chemistry between them is pretty lacklustre, but she's the only one I see that can get with him....unless there is a new character???

Exactly! I excited to see the second season, especially if Run Yu is going to appear! He really needs a happy ending

Title Renascence
basically how it goes in almost every historical fantasy chinese webnovel.
yep, basically; the thing different here thou is that the director is actually true to the novel which is very rare I find. most novels like this, when they are adapted to a drama, the take out the reincarnation/rebirth part of it and switch the character with another person i.e. the person died, the main character replaces them, n the MC becomes less OP and more reliant on the male leads

I watched this just so I could see more go run yu. he was everything I wanted in a male lead????. his crazy possessiveness, dark past, loneliness, delicate elegance, and kindness.....he was just so dreamy

If there is anyone out there that has serious second male lead syndrome, this is the drama for you! I thought Shangguan Qiuyue was the second male lead before I realised that his name was in the title AND he was in the main poster! Even then, throughout the story I thought he was the second male lead because he has all the characteristics of one! He is the villain, he's lonely, his aesthetic is like a second male lead(his outfit, weapon, etc.), and I preferred him over Xiao Bai(which is usually a red flag for me cause I 99% of the time ALWAYS like the second male lead).

I’ve just watched the ending ep 40 on YouTube. I really thought it was happy ending (read some post below and…
that ending scene was basically a flashback to when they first met; he was actually the first guy she saw and is her Mr. Right. I can't read Chinese either but I think what he wrote was her new name "Chuan Hua"
