What a journey. I absolutely loved this drama, and the chemistry between the leads is definitely its strongest point.
For me, everything was perfect until episode 19. The last 10 episodes didn't hit the same. The breakup felt too abrupt, and the reason behind it was pretty weak, which made me lose some of the emotional connection. Then they spent 10 years apart, only for the whole revenge plan to be wrapped up in about 15 minutes. I think it would have been much more interesting if the revenge had started from the moment they first met, showing more of the path that led her to make those decisions.
Comparing it to Lighter & Princess, which is my favorite drama, I think the script here was a bit weaker. That said, the romance was amazing. The leads had incredible chemistry, the OST was beautiful, and there was plenty of skinship, which I always appreciate.
So in the end, it's still a 10/10 for me because the romance carried the whole drama. But when it comes to the overall story, I still prefer Sniper Butterfly.
Well, I finally caught up with the drama. I was expecting an express package, but unfortunately that’s not happening.…
I agree. And for me the motive of their breaking up is so blah, like, ok she felt guilty, but I mean, he was there for her in the moment that she needs the most and when he need her she just hurt him, in a drama we can pass this, but in real life, someone like this should never be with anyone. And the way ML treat her is beyond love, is obsessive, totally red flag. But I want to see their sweet moment as well, I just think they could write the script way better for a love/revenge drama.
Ok, so this one is a rare gem. It's really underrated. One of my favorite drama genres is older woman x younger man. The chemistry is amazing, and the FL looks so much younger. I was shocked to find out that she is already 43! |o|
The age gap doesn't bother me at all, and I think we still have a long way to go when it comes to women being judged differently. Hidden Love has almost the same kind of story and people love it (I did too), but when it's the other way around, people start complaining about it. I think people are just used to seeing older men with younger women, so it's really nice to see the opposite. One of my favorite dramas of all time is Secret Love Affair, and the age gap there is much bigger than here hahaha.
Anyway, I'm on episode 16 and I'm super hooked. The leads are amazing, the chemistry is fireeeeeee, and the love story is really well done. I love this past-present format. I'm pretty sure this will become one of my favorites. And let's be realistic, younger men are sooo much more romantic hahahahaha.
I just love a powerful couple, first time that i saw Du Ling she was a villain in TTEOTM. She just rocks in making eyes full of angry and revenge, one of the best actress in this kind of character. Too bad i start to watch it on going, i wish i could just bang it all on weekend 😩
