You nailed it! That's exactly what I feel now when I watch the donghua. I feel that Tang San is way too static, always challenging the most powerful ones, always winning but hardly showing any growth. I also like the animations but it started to get boring, that's what I meant when I said that I miss the unpredictability of the Live action.

You might have missed the hint that BiBi Dong other than being the most powerful douluo, she was also using another source of power, the one from the book that Tank Hao forced Tang San to learn and memorize then he burn it out. The reason for which Tang San's mother got killed was that source of power from the book and Tang San is the only one to possess it, except for BiBi Dong. That's why she was able to hold against so many powerful people.
Regarding certain fighting scenes, I believe we gonna have a re-watch of what happened in another season. Now that this series is doing stellar in China, there is a 100% chance investors to want a repeat of it.

If you didn't watched yet, I recommend Ever night season 1. Is a good drama with nice action combat.

I'm having a problem. Since I've watched the live action drama, I can't enjoy anymore the donghua as I did before. I keep comparing and expect the animation to take the turns as would do on the drama. I find Tang San too predictable. For example in the episode 145 he fought with the old guy, he knew he would win but still talking to himself that he might lose, even if he didn't used half of his skills in the fight. Also their characters started to bother me. I mean, i loved Fatty before, now I feel like he's somehow fake and his personality doesn't fit him anymore because the one giggling and goofing around in the drama is Oskar and it fits him better, and it bothers me that they don't match. I already re-watched the drama 3 times, still not over it and I'm bummed by the fact that I'm not enjoying the donghua anymore.
Now I pray gods to have a season 2! Uhhuhh!

I think it different. I already have a stereotype model for the lead and secondary characters in my head from the novel. After I watched the donghua this stereotype got even stronger. I was expecting the drama to be different and take me out of the model that these 3d designed characters impressed into my memory, that's why I would never want the drama to be a copy/paste of the donghua. Would highly irritate me because I would already know what's next. What's the point to whatch something I already know and seen? Is like watching a duplicate of a painting knowing its a duplicate and expecting it to be better than the original. Because in this case the "original" for most of the complainers here is the donghua as they already watched and enjoyed.
It's all a matter of perspective.

I watched the donghua and read the book and I love all 3 in every aspect and in different way each of them. The important thing is to distinguish them from one another and not let yourself be confused. A live action will always be different from an animation, always! Whoever comes here complaining that is not the same should go back to watch the donghua. Why would they want to watch a copy/paste of the same thing, it puzzles me.

There is already confirmed a season 2 but not sure if any of the original cast will be part of it.

This is the TV Series live action version and we are enjoying it a lot. Thanks for your input but let's not compare apples with oranges. They are two totally different things.

There will be a Season 2, the writer Wang Juan confirmed it on his weibo with his latest spoilerish post.

The screenwriter of this drama is the same writer of the book that also declared in a very recent interview that he likes very much the series and is proud of the outcome.
