I know people are annoyed with the SML screentime but I'm enjoying seeing him suffer. In the books, there were only a few scenes with him after their college days, and I always wanted to see his side, miserable and pining for NXG.

Just saw preview for ep 17. Was there a skiing scene in the novels? I don't remember that for some reason...

So much care was put into this drama. They found the perfect actors and team to bring this novel to life. I wish more cdramas were like this.

I think this is a case of "his desire for her outweighs preventing her from falling into the palace pit." He probably knows the dangers but 1) he desires her for his wife too much and realistically knows that she needs to get acquainted with palace etiquette (like the emperor ordered), and 2) believes he can protect her from scheming ladies, like he has done several times already. The only way to prevent CSS from having to deal with scheming royals is by her not marrying him, but you know he would rather cut off his own arm than let that happen.

I remember reading a spoiler from the book. LBY actually thought that CSS had fallen for him too during that arrow scene. He thought his feelings were reciprocated, which was why he was even more devastated and confused to find her engaged to LY. In the book, he shares this memory with CSS, but I don’t know if the show will include this point. Maybe this scene in the ep is meant to replace that sentiment.

The line delivery from Consort Yue's actress is simply *chef's kiss*. You can really believe that this person sits in one of the highest positions. Such a commanding yet dignified tone.

HAHAHA these are gold. The words Consort Yue used for "If someone doubts your bride, just ignore their foolish attempt" literally translates to "If someone wants to pick apart your bride, it's all fart [meaning here: bullshit]." It's even better imo LOLLL

I believe she decided to speak up about it after the emperor basically told her that the public will judge LBY based on her actions and reputation. Wang Lin is hateful towards her and won’t stop publicly damaging her reputation; CSS now knows that this will also harm LBY and his household. If the emperor didn’t say this to her, I don’t think she would have mentioned it at all. Remember what she said to QiQi before — it’s pointless to fight back because it won’t change anything. But now, she sees the bigger picture.

Had to skip nearly all the parts with Ling Xiao's mom and blood sister, but aside from that loved this drama. Steven Zhang is probably one of the best actors of his generation.

She's the worst! I'm really hoping that the drama doesn't just gloss over what she did, since it is both cruel and illegal. Maybe Zhou Xiao will use her detective skills later on and somehow shed light on what happened.

I'm so excited for this! Looking forward to seeing KGE on the small screen again.

After 12 episodes, Baek Kyung's anger management issues (kicking, hitting, fighting, yelling) are getting old. I really hope we see some more character development soon.

I read the negative reviews about this drama, including the "wooden acting" from the ML, and was a bit hesitant to start. But the premise was interesting so I decided to give it a try. And I gotta say...I ended up watching and enjoying the whole thing. Cha Eun Woo is definitely green but I quite liked him in this. As for him being "wooden," I would say that Yang Yang was even more awkward and stiff in Love 020 (and that didn't stop me from liking Love 020 either).

I'm really looking forward to watching both YZ and XZ in another drama. The first trailer that just came out was meh though...praying that it's the bad trailer and not indicative of the drama.

I'm still holding out for KSG and YDJ to do another drama together. They have such good chemistry.

The chemistry between Dan-oh and the boys is amazing. I'm crossing my fingers that talented fan writers will end up writing some spin-off stories for these characters. Kim Hye Yoon is so good in this that I finally ended up watching Sky Castle to see more of her works. She has serious acting chops and is so charismatic on screen.

Watching it for the first time. The plot is pretty intriguing and Lee Seung Gi is darn good in this! The cast has so many big, talented names. So far, the thing that's dragging it down for me is Oh Yeon Seo. Her acting is uninspired and it's as if she only has one expression; her chemistry with the cast (especially LSG) is meh. Same issue I had with Moon Embracing the Sun - the female lead is glaringly lackluster compared to the others acting in circles around her.

Even disregarding the near perfect drama this one is a remake of, this one is such a disappointment.

I abused the fast-forward button for this one, but I couldn't help coming back to watch Han Dongjun. He's really great in this role, but if you're not into political scheming plots, this could seem very loooong and draggy.
