It was really great. great action, solid acting, good cinematography. It feels like the japanese have finally woken up. they used to do cheap cinematography and kind of wooden acting. i feel like they were too comfortable sticking to 2000 style without a care . but probably after seeing other asian nations surpassing them they have become serious. alice in borderland, first love:hatsukoi and now this series, it feels like japan has become serious to put budget and effort in their shows. i am really happy because of it. just the other day i watched godzilla minus one and it also had phenomenal cinematography.
Although i am an anime fan, but my suggestion would be stop listening to typical anime nerds who always start yelling sarcastically hearing the word "live action". my advice would be watch this show. this show deserves high praise. i would be really sad if it doesn't get season 2 because enough people didn't give it a chance
I am a guy and since i suppose most kdrama watchers are women let me give my honest opinion. This drama rocks. i have watched lots of korean movies and dramas. and let me be honest with you ladies. usually the kind of dramas that gets high praise, i find them boring. while i found this drama very intensely romantic. i think its due to gender bias. this drama was very male gaze. the heroine is very beautiful. like the kind of beauty that gives your heart a sting. she has that x factor. the man is a normal dude. he has everyday problem like studying civil engineering while working part time job. he is not a chaebol and don't make faces and expressions like typical kdrama hero who are made as a product and not as a human to attract female fantasy. i guess i now can understand when women complain about anime girls who are unrealistic and made as a product for men to consume.. he was very relatable everyday dude. people might say doona is a walking red flag so this dude wouldn't get involved with her. but let me tell you lots of dude can relate to his immature days when he fell head over heels for that one love which never supposed to work. with a woman he shouldn't be involved with but can't resist. then we grow up and mature as a person. but that memory with that one girl remains somehow. i think bae suzy captured that feeling of "out of reach" girl very well. she was breathtakingly beautiful
this drama had such strong starting and such weak ending. at first it was a masterpiece. the main character sae was such a beautifully complex character with whom you can empathize with. and at the end of the day she became an asshole. just because she is deaf that doesnt mean the world owes her something. this bitch ruined the main male character's life. she also ruined her fiance's life. she never grew up. i watched the whole series waiting for the heroine to grow a spine. but she never did. she never went for what she wants. she never made an effort for her love. she never had the guts to apologize to him face to face. her friends had to do all the labor anytime she fucks up. probably because of these kind of dramas some women have such entitled princess attitude. this was not romantic. the guy got stuck in a toxic relationship at the end. because the bitch will run off whenever things wont go her way
No one is asking a skinny Suzy to defeat monsters or something, her character doesn’t even have the basic martial…
LSG recently came back from army. Also apparently he has trained for several months for this drama.. Shooting action sequences are hard and usually choreographed around actor's capabilities. Maybe suzy didn't train much or have bad physical co ordination so the writer had to trim down her action scenes! Because its harder to shoot.. i dont know You can always see through whether an actor/actress really have physical capability or not. Camera can't hide that. Thats why tom cruise or keanu reeves are such acclaimed action stars. In game of thrones although Jaime lannister was a better fighter than jon snow, jon snow had all the action scenes because actor kit Harrington actually knew swordfight Lets see if in future they have action scenes of suzy. I hope they do
i know pop culture has shown over and over in tv that 110-120 pound skinny women can beat up 200 pound buff men with fighting but thats simply is not real. testosterone is a thing. i dont blame the women in this comment section who expected suzy's character to beat everyone up in action. but reality is not like that. in real life women NIS agent dont go around beating everyone up. ordinary informer agents in intelligence agencies simply do their job by gathering information and monitoring targets . you may ask then why is the male lead so capable? thats unrealistic too. i agree with you. but if you watch carefully the male lead is so reckless and literally have death wish. he is on constant adrenaline rush. the female lead wont have that kind of death wish intensity like him because its not personal for her.
they need to develop suzy's character more. what i want from her is that she starts making smart strategies and making plans to trap the villains. that would be more realistic and badass. a great NIS agent would be smart enough to figure out the complexity of the villain's plan and counter attack it. suzy needs to be the brain in this operation. i am sure they will develop her that way. if she is already competent in episode 1 then there will be no room for character development. thats why i dont like hollywood female protagonist anymore. they are so afraid of making them vulnerable and human that they end up being boring mary sues
