agree with language, specially when Maggie involve. one time Mo Yuanzhi speak full mandarin and then after he left, his assistant speaks full english to her, and they show that she quite fluent in mandarin to follow convo with out any english 😅
I've watched some c-drama specially on Netflix but found it pretty similar in the term of character development (this apply for both mainland drama and taiwanese drama).
For adaptation drama either from novel or comic I found them pretty boring rather than the original source. King's Avatar is one of the example, the comic and anime adaptation is pretty interesting while the. drama is so-so, not to mention Meteor Garden which I found really disappointed (and more flop if compared with other country version Hana Yori Dango or Boys Over Flower). The only adaptation i found interesting is Romance in The Rain which is adaptated from novel (and from what i heard the original writer is also involved on the drama)
I love J-Drama, but last J-drama i watched is about 2-3 years ago. It's really hard to find J-Drama nowdays, Netflix and other have some but some are still region restricted.
I watched most drama before 2012's, and less an less j-drama years after
