The costumes and makeup are done by Yi Xiaoya (from CLJ and FSMM).
But the most important thing is that Yu Shuxin, as the female lead, carries the S+ rating on her own (C'mon she already proven herself with CangLanJue and XiaoSenLin 10.000 double heat popularity). The story in the novel itself is from the prespective of Ling Miao Miao character as the main heroine. Ling Miaomiao's character is unbeatable and shines brightly. There's no rivalry with the second female lead. The plot revolves around the female lead's romantic pursuits. The overall style plot are episodics, with the four main characters fighting monsters and capturing demons. Even though it's adapted from a novel written five years ago, the character design is still on point. This current fantasy drama outshines others in terms of intense romance and immortality.
So, if the production company really think Yu Shuxin couldn't handle S+ rating, why should they keep her as the main female lead? (and as the 1st billing?) They clearly has a chance to change the female lead if they want to, but they simply don't want to do it.

Yes, they start on dec last year. The filming got so long, it should've been finish shooting around 12-15th march but because some scenes aren't finished yet, so they had no choice but to extend the shooting schedules. That's why 2 of ysx's schedules this month got cancelled and ysx had to filming more than 30 hours+ a day to be able to finish this drama 🙏😢. I just hope all the actress, actors and crews are all healthy and be able to finish this drama as scheduled 🙏.
I don’t think this drama will be 24 episodes, they have been filming for so long only to be so short
I think it's reasonable to be only 24 episode for this project. This drama scheduled filming for 100 days, usually other drama which have 36 to 40 episode will need 120 days for filming. Also GJM is a movie director, It's first drama he direct, He usually filming a 2-3 hours movie for about 3 months, now it's a 24 episodes drama only only shooting for 100 days, based on this, It's better to shoot a shorter drama to make him can keep the quality standart for the drama 🙏.

I am confident Esther can pull off a cold assassin role based on how she portrayed DFQC in LBFAD.
