From what I'm reading about book 3 in spoilers, it seems this time it will be Tharn who'll become the immature…
RIP I don't watch things with that many episodes TT_TT Thank you for telling me about it though! Maybe one day when I have more patience I'll be able to watch it.
From what I'm reading about book 3 in spoilers, it seems this time it will be Tharn who'll become the immature…
Ooh, yeah, they were really frustrating especially because they were a three year relationship. But I could kind of see it happening because little things just piling up, y'know? Sun/Mork gave me life though, so I'll agree on that part :P
I didn't read the books, so maybe that's why it was alright for me! I did watch Kiss Me Again after DBK though, and he was pretty unreasonable back then too! I think he was just upset because he was so much more open and giving in the relationship compared to Kao. Agree about the chemistry too--for some reason it felt a little lacking, but hey, I loved it regardless because I love New rip
Yes! If you know of any more dramas which talk about these issues please let me know! I found their attitudes really good about it--even in Kiss Me Again with how clear Kao was about his own feelings and wanting Pete to make a decision. (This just made me remember: Kiss Me Again actually had Pete break up with Mint before he gets with Kao and we don't get the bullshit like Together With Me with Knock and his girlfriend! I loved that too!)

Sounds interesting! Don't know if I'll watch it, but at least it seems more mature.
If you're looking for drama recommendations, I think you might like Dark Blue Kiss--it's also the trials and tribulations of an established relationship of three years and I think they deal with discussions about how to come out to parents, friends, and stuff really well in it. And there's no cheating whatsoever! Pretty mature and the side couple is cute too. You might enjoy it if you haven't already.
Hard agree about TWM:NC Wish I could erase it too :( Maybe when the Men in Black memory eraser thing becomes real.
idk about u but that thing with saying things u don't mean at times...I relate to that a lot. Type swears a lot…
His development is good, I'll grant you that. I loved Gulf's acting. The character itself? Not so much. Like I said, maybe the book will make me like him better when I can read what was going through his mind for how he behaved in some scenes.
On another note: I liked him once his relationship had settled down (so in the 3 years later, and the special episode) if only because I finally got to see him being supportive and encouraging. I alos liked him in Love By Chance--I thought Type was one of the only sensible characters in that.
I understand being annoyed with Type, I was too, and I'm not crazy about all the punching that seems to be in…
Oh, no, for sure, I like the internalised homophobia. In fact, I think Gulf did a pretty good job of portraying it. I also appreciated the 'I'm just totally gay' thing--I think Dark Blue Kiss, Love By Chance, Tomorrow With You had it too and I totally like that in those dramas too. (I think a lot of asian dramas/fanfics/stories seem to think the 'only gay for you' thing is cute, but damn, I'm growing a little tired of it.)
I just couldn't like Type until the end. Not in this at least. But I did like him in the Special episode if only because I actually got to see him being supportive and encouraging.
idk about u but that thing with saying things u don't mean at times...I relate to that a lot. Type swears a lot…
I actually found Lhong cute too! Despite knowing how evil he actually is--and really that dude needs to go to jail wtf--I can appreciate his face :P
Well, it just wasn't a story that resonated with me very much, haha. I liked it well enough and lived for those cute moments but that was pretty much it. And happy for their relationship later. Maybe I'll try the books out and liked them more--especially since I heard there's a second season--but English translations can sometimes not be that great to read.
Nice talk with you though! Some people just get angry and don't listen.
I watched this with no expectations and it really blew me away.
They were already in an established relationship and Pete's dad already knew. Pete is a possessive bastard--I watched Kiss me Again just to get a feel of their relationship as a whole--and we already knew that. Kao became much more worried about mentioning their relationship which I think is because his mother's sudden bout of illness in Kiss Me Again, so that also makes sense. They were sweet and could talk about their issues more, but I've come to deal with bad communication in shows. (Though I'll give props for communicating everything else except Non lmao Their banter and support to each other on any other issue was lovely to see!)
There weren't many kisses and other scenes and I think we didn't see them because they always had other people around them, you know. I'm sure they got up to stuff alone.
Non's character was...well, I tried not to hate him, but forcing yourself onto someone who already rejected you is creepy behaviour and I'm not here for it. I hope his life turns out well because his father is awful, but I don't want to see him again.
I liked that there wasn't any cheating and I liked that they even touched upon the subject of marriage--they're a relationship that had been going on for three years and wanted to see if their goals were aligned. I really loved that. The sweet moments in between all the drama were what I lived for.
All in all a good series. I gave it a 9 because communication (except when they actually needed it, but that's to be expected from shows) and the reality and worry of coming out. Loved them, watched Our Skyy just to be happy some more and it was good to see Kao super comfortable with their relationship. (I've started writing fanfiction for this show so I guess make of that what you will.)
So I watched this entire series, pretty much. Just because I like Knock and he deserves better. The cheating was annoying, the lack of communication even worse, but maybe it's to be expected. I don't know. I've watched Dark Blue Kiss so maybe I'm just spoiled with a couple which refuses to cheat but just have a lot of bad communication instead. I can deal with bad communication, but I can't relate to getting back with someone who cheated rip.
One thing I don't understand: Farm going back to Bright. Wtf was up with that? Rit deserved better too. At the very least both of the characters I hated the most got back together so hopefully they'll only hurt each other and not randos.
idk about u but that thing with saying things u don't mean at times...I relate to that a lot. Type swears a lot…
I totally get what you mean! It's just that I found Type much harder to relate to than Tharn--though sometimes Tharn was hard to relate to a well because he was being a bit creepy with the sexual advances early on when Type made it clear it wasn't alright. Type on the other hand is caustic and I've never actually met a person like him in real life so it was hard to sympathise with him at all. I'll say this, he at least seemed better in the special episode. I could bear him then. He's so sweet sometimes and the other times I'm just left wondering how anyone deals with him.
I actually dropped this show before--I think I mentioned that before--and restarted it. When I dropped it, I'd already been spoiled about Lhong so I found those little hints while I watched it this time 'round. It was good but it felt a little forced to me. Maybe it was more obvious in the books?
Either way, I did enjoy the show enough to binge it completely lol Just not that great of one, but not bad either. Maybe one day I'll be able to watch it again and appreciate it more. (But the first few episodes really make me uncomfortable because Type's bullying is awful.)
Okay, started this once then dropped it on the first episode itself because of the homophobia. Rewatched for Tharn because he deserves the world.
Type: I appreciated his character in the beginning, but his shtick got annoying quickly. Repeatedly says shit and just excuses it with 'you know I have a dirty mouth' instead of actually trying to control it more. Got the shitty trope of 'I did everything for you' which could have been avoided if he'd just told Tharn and devised a plan with him instead of doing this bullshit.
Tharn: Sweet, needs to communicate more clearly. I feel bad for him because he got done dirty by everyone. It feels like there's an imbalance in their relationship with how giving and forgiving he is. I just want him to be happy :( Also his family deserves the best.
Lhong: His whole plot seemed sudden. I binge-watched it and it felt a little random how they suddenly decided to bring it in on the last few episodes. Should be in jail. His 'redemption' should never have happened. Don't know who's more shit: Lhong because he paid people to rape a highschooler or the guys who accepted money to do it. I think he deserved much worse than he got after everything he did.
Tum/Tar: I don't go for incest stories regardless of the fact that they're step siblings; I find it too strange. Tar deserved much better than he got. His brother seems alright too. They were better in Love By Chance if only because I love Cooheart.
All in all, I gave it a 6.5. Story was nothing ground-breaking--a classic enemies to lovers with some good old fashioned homophobia and a psychopath thrown in. (Though that may just be because I've read fanfics like this before.) Chemistry was amazing. I'll be real, Tharn's eyes, hands, and thumb-ring made me stay for the whole thing.
Can someone tell me how many episodes Korn and Knock resolve their issues in? I really want to watch it but if it's till the last episode, I don't know if I'll be able to hold on. My heart is weak lol
