Enforcing some rules to avoid cheating is never bad.
Yes, it depends also how professionals consider their acting skill, and probably other things. I wonder if they should do that with international audience.
I'm not convinced by the couple, but it's more related to the story and scenes. I've come to watch the drama because I like them. So, I'm ok they win, even if I didn't watched a lot of other SBS dramas to compare.

Before I was writing in present tense, quite visually. But it wasn't novel like (novels are past tense). I didn't like the western screenplay format (I made an episode with that), but one day I could get korean screenplays and WOW! Love at first sight! More easy and pleasant to read than novels or western screenplay.
I translated that using auto-translation soft, to see how it's made and what they put on the page. And found out they are a bit more permissives than western ones. I can't detail, but my intuition says it's why emotions are better rendered. You can see on my blog a page "reading tips", it shows the formats, with some comparisons.
Then, thanks to few IT skills, I made a soft producing html files (or screenplay format ones) from text files. I could change text format, using colors and use images instead of characters names. What's make that even more pleasant to read. The most close as possible as a drama on TV.
Why I did that visual screenplay format: obviously, I'm just an amateur. I'll never be a pro screenwriter in Korea. I even don't speak korean and don't live there, and don't have enough experience. So, instead of writing screenplay in the way a director produce it, I wanted to make it the final product.

I can't help, but ideas come... well, I'm defeated by ideas. I had an idea of scene of first meeting. In a restaurant. The author talk to another man about all the tricks used in romance novels, and laugh a lot about women stupidity to believe in that.
Just behind in the place, the FL. Ofc, she stands-up angry, and go to speak to this rude, ugly and fat guy. Telling him how cynical he's, and he's a jerk scumbag. Then, she defend her ideas by quoting the lines of his books!!
Starts with a good argument conflict. But ofc, he won't reveal to her who he is. Maybe just tell her: the author you love so much is just a cheater like the others. Unacceptable for her, ofc! Kind of crazy scene where the FL defends the author, but the real man despites her and himself as author. A bit schyzo. LOL!!
But about the title, I took a bit from a kdrama screenplay I wrote recently. Well, you could laugh: "Bookstore where you rent my heart". Cheesy title, isn't it? I didn't have a will to make it a whole kdrama project. However, I wrote the first two hours of the drama.

Thanks, maybe something like that was made already. But anyway, it's often like that with pitches. We can feel there is an opportunity for conflict. I was thinking about that because I'm watching Chicago Typewriter. 😉
My main problem about dramas is more when they become draggy and boring. The feeling that the writer doesn't have enough content for the episode, and needs to use fillers, endless series of flashback with song. Then, cheesy lines don't work anymore in this context.
