Actually this version stick to the novel better than 2019 ver... earlier version added more plot twist.... and change some story line... some problem in 2019 ver are mixed and appear at the same time.
Some character also portrayed differently.
In 2019 ver ge bi is really jerk (this ver too, but 2019 was worst), he also has some conflict with sheng huai nan and his friend. Ding shu jing is closer with luo zhi in 2019, while in this version she's just classmate and ye zan yan's bf. In 2019 ye zan yan know sheng huai nan actually like luo zhi in high school days, but she's copy luo zhi style and manipulated sheng huai nan. They also made luo zhi became weird stalker who tutor jack and tiffany because she's know they are sheng huai nan's cousin

I watch a glimp of scene of shen huai nan in navy suit giving speech/presentation in front of many people, i think it about work project / something... so maybe we'll not see his character became stupid at the end... 10 episode to go... I hope they wraping this drama with better ending... because so far I love this version detailed story better
A remake need to keep story like original idea but adding different change like plot twist, different scene, culture reference to make it another good drama. If its just carbon copy what the point of remaking drama? It will be just another materail comparison to original show.... Its really rare in drama, where you love secondary couple as much as main couple... The story of side couple is interesting, and we got curious how and when they will end up together... their exist not just to make more screen time of drama or a way to made main couple together, its another love story but not overshadowing but not too plain. When these 4 together the mood became so bright and funny... overall there's no scene you want to skip, because each character's story is so beautifully writed.

At first you cant help but compare 2019 ver and this drama, but as story progress you can find it has the same essence yet portrayed differently..... at first I find this ver FL isnt that good, but after 4 episode I find she's turn really well. In 2019 ver FL is cool but sometime got really annoyed, she is fierce, stubborn, and sometimes rude. But so far in this ver FL not weak or dumb, but she's full of elegant charisma, sweet, soft, but still keep her dignity. The bonus plus is hu yi tian play his card as typical ML in idol drama as handsomeperfect smart kind cool guy, really seems believable while in 2019 ver ML doesnt has that vibe. I Watched till 10 episode, this slow burn romance, but its not boring, its sweet, mellow yet sad at the same time. There's side story but the focus still on our mAin character. If you want to skip them at least you still can get 30 minutes full story of our couple.
I watched Way Back into Love to prepare myself and get Fu Pei out of my head. It worked for me.

I watch the first scene of ep 1, and as much as I love kdrama... its just bad... the confession scene just turn me off... its so cringey... I dont got this vibe when watching chinese ver... its supposed to be cute and funny... chinese ver made the girl chase ML seems so funny and cute... but this version made her looks like stalker... there is no chemistry... I dont know maybe the bad casting play big part... I think if they choose a more taller and has that cold charisma like hu yi tian it will made better choice... maybe like roo won... but for FL I cant think korean actress that has young cute, innocent, fluffy image as shen yue.... k-actress seems more has mature charm for me...
