O.K. this was the best episode so far. I think we got a chance to see that Cake is also overbearing. Its not just Seiiw being "naggy."

I'm glad they had him finish Love of Siam. I thought his reaction was the correct one for the times he was living in. Love of Siam was probably be most humane of the gay themed media in Thailand he could have stumbled onto at that time, but it was still a weeper. But it was a movie where he could see himself and his story. There were quite a few lady boy comedies around that time, but that's not who he is. I do want to send a note to his sister to try to find a copy of Right By Me, so he could see himself and his story in a way that wouldn't make him feel so hopeless. Beyond those comedies, Right by Me, or LoS, everything else he could have watched would have been too depressing and tragic. I'd hate to see his reaction to Bangkok Love Story. As unrealistic as BL can be sometimes, it does end up with happy endings most of the time. Had he been exposed to media for the first time in 2022, he'd feel like there were more possibilities out there.

I'm having a tough time believing that that was his first time having ice cream or going to a park to swing on a swing set. Sheesh. This is some sheltered life he's led. I hope Sand turns out to be an o.k. friend. I don't think he's imaginary as someone posted below. Way too much detailed backstory for Eeiw to be wandering about talking to himself.

I think we did some sleuthing early on and decided it was 2006. But Love of Siam was released in 2007.

Some key things that are missing: No one has a smart phone. The IPhone was introduced in 2007 and these characters aren't wealthy enough to have them yet.

However, no one seems to have an iPod or Mp3 player. No one is watching videos on YouTube or on Facebook. Which would be 2004/2005ish.

Thua knows who did it, but he was in the class I think. I took stills of every group shot I could find, and I think I see Thua there, standing with his back to the camera. At least a kid who has Thua's haircut. I do hope its one of those and it isn't some new character who we don't know yet.

I think a victory milestone for this couple is Takara with a party hat on actually enjoying himself because he has a party hat on and not immediately jumping back into his shell. Amagi seems like the kind of kid who'd enjoy having that kind of party and shouldn't have to spend the rest of his life worrying whether Takara is happy in that situation simply because Takara refuses to show enjoyment.

Going to guess that Pie and Phet are here because they are the only couple where both members will be alive at the end.

Its kind of nice that the resort lit enough campfires so that Sun and Kim could talk without having to watch Rain and Phayoo have sex. They aim to please all their guests. Anyway, since there were two witnesses to that beach sex, I'm sure word will get out soon.

Dad: "I've tried to be the best father I could be." All of us: "No. Not even close to trying." The man is such troglodyte. "Have you ever tried to understand me?" Like he's really hard to understand at all. What's would be the point of walking a centimeter in his shoes? There's noting to learn about him.

Anyway, I'm guessing that Rain's dream foreshadows a moment when he needs to fly a helicopter to Iguazu Falls to rescue Phayoo and Rain. If Rain is still alive much longer. Which I doubt he will be. Going to guess that it will miraculously turn out that Rain's heart is a match for Sun.

The music at the departure scene in ep 10 was just so over dramatic. Perhaps there's a reason to be suspicious of the doctor, but since we haven't seen her since episode 2, we have no idea why that might be.

They L word? They are lesbians?

Its good that they did this, so that there will turn out to be no secret connections. Say Ye Guang's dad having something to do with the death. Sometimes the writers of Asian dramas can't help themselves.

Parricide is an option.

Meh. I like this series a lot. So much so that the accidental kiss annoyed me.

Episode 4
Well, honestly, I don't care what y'all say. Its more interesting when Sasi is there than when she isn't. And since the boys used her absence to injure themselves, give docent talks about fine art, talk about the past and Thai grammar, I think we need her back.

At the very least, someone needed to be there to caution In about wearing those shoes hiking in the woods. Sure, they say that side of the creek is the dangerous side, but he certainly didn't choose his footwear thinking that was dangerous. He's lucky he lost his footing near home.

I'm trying to guess what the BL was they were watching. I can't place it, so I'm guessing they shot another BL to insert in.

In's backstory with Wang's father is more BL than the current story that's enveloping. Falling for the boy that was kind to you, especially when that act of kindness happens when you're crying is, pretty standard stuff. Which reminds me, I can't wait until About Youth's latest episode drops tomorrow.

Wang, yeah, there is a calling for people who are interested in the precise coordinates of things. Your local Air Force recruiter would like a word with you. As would your local societies of surveyors and geographers.

You will refer to yourself as uncle in my presence or I shall punish you.

On the minus side, Wang really is starting to narrate too much. And this is the first episode where their theatrical dialog is starting to wear thin. They are way too self aware of their motivations and talk like a family of people with psychology degrees would talk to each other. First one to diagnose the mental state properly wins. Also they are speaking to the themes and symbols fairly directly, which makes them lose their power a bit IMHO. But still, this is the best gay drama or BL airing at the moment by a long shot.

I tend to agree that the Japanese BL that's adapted from manga tends to have too much narration from thought bubbles transferred over. However, in this case, I really need it. I'd have a very difficult time making any sense out of Amagi's actions if I wasn't given the advanced warning.

Possible next steps:
1) There is no student named Sand. Eiw is so lonely, he's making him up. Probability 12%
2) There was a student named Sand, but he died long ago. He needs to help someone fall in love before his spirit can go to the afterlife. Probability: 12%
3) Sand isn't poor. In fact he's super wealthy, but just told Eiw he's poor because he doesn't want that to be the reason someone likes him. The full title of this BL is My Oxygen Level is 12%. Probability: 12%
4) Sand isn't poor. In fact he's super wealthy. He just told Eiw that he's poor because he doesn't want anyone to know that he's the son of a mafia boss. When Cake comes back from abroad, he'll find that Eiw is now an up and coming mob enforcer. Probability: 12%
5) Sand has always liked Eiw because he likes how he rejects other people's company and doesn't seem to care if he has lots of friends. He's there to ask Eiw to join the student council. Probability 12%.

I think everyone in this series is just nice. Even if they do stuff like break rules and smoke, they are basically kind people. So this isn't going to be the story of Eiw falling in with the bad crowd. There's no bad crowd. Kung might like Eiw, but we're probably so used to having someone be a third wheel that we interpret his kindness as affection.

Yeah. Cake seems like that kind of asshole student who never studies but pulls an A out of his hat when he needs it. So of course he'll win that scholarship over all the students who actually study hard. :-) (Not to criticize. I was that asshole student in my own high school.)

Lordy, I hope Eiw doesn't sneak downstairs to watch Love of Siam to the end. He's not going to be able to handle it.

Sand seems nice. Well, so far, everyone in this series is nice. I hope Sand isn't going to be the first bad person Eiw meets as he really does need to get out of his shell. There's a difference between being an introvert and being afraid of everything outside your house. I've felt sorry for him because really teenage years through college is really the easiest time to make friends. Best bank them while you can. I found it a little odd that Sand would admit so easily how poor his family is. I guess if he's only interested in becoming friends with Eiw because his mom has a restaurant and he can eat over there for free, I'm fine with that, too.

Hon is very pretty, indeed. And very patient with to walk away from the goofus crew with an "ugh" rather than a smack and a howl of "YOU ARE IN MY PERSONAL SPACE UNINVITED AND I CAN WIPE MY OWN CHEEK." Something I wish would happen more often in BL, TBH.

He looks so sweet and innocent, but then he does the pelvic thrusts and you wonder if looks can be deceiving.

They were just wondering what the source of the wind was that blew the scarf away. That magic trick distracted them from her face.

Maybe Kim doesn’t like his co workers and parents as much as we think he does.
